Pain management and control is well documented in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture - and the good news - Acupuncture can help with so much more.
As a holistic treatment, Acupuncture can support many needs and demands of todays modern busy stressful lifestyle.
Anxiety & stress are a huge part of everyday life for many people. While well managed stress can get the best or most from some people, stress that effects your everyday and affects your sleep is not helpful and is more likely to be detrimental.

Thank you Fiona for this lovely review.
Acupuncture is proven to relieve anxiety and reduce stress levels. However, if the thought of an acupuncture treatment is cause for concern, drop me a line to learn more and see if acupuncture is for you.

Patients say the nicest things. šŸ™‚
Thank you to Steven for this wonderful review.

I am thankful for you mentioning that you did your research before choosing to take your course of treatment with me.
This gives me the opportunity to share that I am a degree level trained acupuncturist, the course involved three years theory and practical experience and since graduating I have been happily and successfully treating for over 5 years.
My learning journey does not end there, I have an ongoing tenacity, curiosity and passion for traditional acupuncture, so I'm always learning and appreciating this system of holistic healthcare treatment.

Unfortunately I have had to cancel tomorrow's treatments, as I have a rotten cold 🤧 and really do not want to pass it on.

It has been lingering for far too long and not getting better, so I went to the Dr's to make sure it wasn't anything else. Thankfully my chest is clear and I'm generally healthy apart from this horrid cold.

The lovely Dr reminded me of salt gargling to ease my sore throat. She also very helpfully mentioned a recent British Medical Journal* article that stated salt gargling not only temporarily soothes sore throats, but gargling at the early onset of a cold - upper respiratory infection - can help stop the infection spreading to more cells and reduce its severity.

So whilst I hate salt water gargling (!) I’ve been diligently gargling and regretting that I didn’t much earlier!

Back open on 1st June - when I very much hope to have a spring back in my step 😊

It's always lovely to receive wonderful feedback following successful treatment.
Does acupuncture work? For this patient - YES IT DOES!

Thank you so much for these kind words, they mean so much.
As a small business, it's feedback like this that helps spread the good word for acupuncture and the services I offer.

This is such a lovely review, here it is in full

I recently visited Clare Scallon Acupuncture after suffering from persistent neck and shoulder blade pain, along with reduced neck mobility that was causing frequent headaches.

From the very first session, Clare was incredibly thorough. She clearly explained the causes of my symptoms and talked me through exactly what she was doing during the acupuncture treatment, which made me feel completely at ease.
After just two sessions, my neck mobility improved significantly and my pain reduced dramatically. The difference
has been remarkable.

I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking effective, professional acupuncture treatment.

Chinese new lunar year is tomorrow. Wear red to see in the year of the Horse and a Yang year. 2026 is predicted to be lively, passionate, creative and hot!
Hard to believe with all this rain we’ve been having but it’s to stop twisting and be a hot spring and summer. No doubt where we’ll miss the rain!
Anyway off to wash my hair! Thank you Allie Scott for making me aware that washing my hair tomorrow on the first day of the new lunar year is bad luck!

Happy Chinese New Year all.

If there’s anything you’d like to ask about eastern traditional medicine - I’ll do my best to give a response.
Thank you in advance.

Great article for acupuncture in Chat magazine …

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/18ChBEx4CZ/?mibextid=wwXIfr

Acupuncture gets a great write up in this week's edition of Chat Magazine, in an article featuring a patient of BAcC acupuncturist Sahar Hooti from AcuCare Clinic International. Sahar's patient Leanne Curran from Portsmouth, explained how traditional acupuncture helped her get her life back after struggling with chronic fatigue and pain as a result of ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis). According to the ME Association, over 400,000 people in the UK are currently living with ME, and with over 1 million people reporting symptoms of chronic fatigue as a result of Long Covid, that number is steadily increasing. The article recommends that if you would like to try acupuncture to help manage symptoms for ME, or for any health concern, you can find your nearest BAcC registered, and PSA accredited acupuncturist here https://acupuncture.org.uk/find-an-acupuncturist/

The 12th of January already- how'd that happen?
Which means this is the second Monday clinic day for 2026 and I'm delighted to share the most wonderful feedback from a long term patient. I've always wanted to make a difference, so far 2026 looking good.
