Heading away this bank holiday?
Long journeys can leave you feeling stiff before your break has even begun, whether you are driving, flying, or taking the train.
A few simple changes can make a big difference. Adjust your seat to support your lower back, sit tall rather than slouching, and take regular breaks to stand, stretch, and move around.
Staying hydrated and using a small pillow for neck support on a plane, train or as a car passenger can also help you arrive feeling more comfortable and ready to enjoy your time away.
Small habits, big difference.

Spending most of your day sitting down?
Long hours at a desk can build tension through your neck, shoulders, hips, and lower back, especially when movement breaks get skipped.
Stand up regularly, stretch between tasks, and reset your posture throughout the day.
If things feel tight or uncomfortable, our osteopaths here at Lydney Osteopaths practice can help restore movement and ease tension as well as giving you advice on correct posture etc.

Not everything has to hurt before you do something about it.
It is easy to wait until discomfort becomes impossible to ignore, but your body often gives smaller signs first. Tightness, stiffness, reduced movement, or general fatigue can all be early signals.
Osteopathy is not just about treating pain. It is about supporting how your body moves and functions day to day, helping you stay comfortable and active.
If something does not feel quite right, it is worth paying attention to it.
