Having spent many years working with children and families as a health visitor and specialist nurse for cared for children I feel passionately about the value of touch, early communication and emotional connection to the healthy development of babies and children. As a Mum of t
hree adult children and more recently a Grandma I recognise that we all want to do our best to meet the needs of our babies and children. We learn from our babies and children along the way. This has led me to train with the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM) and become a Certified Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI). Training with IAIM was a great experience, it has helped me to learn much more about the benefits of touch and baby massage. IAIM's purpose is to promote nurturing touch and communication through training, education and research so that parents, caregivers and children are loved, valued and respected throughout the world community. This means that I can now offer small friendly supportive group classes consisting of 5 weekly sessions using the IAIM programme with up to eight parents and their pre-crawling babies in community venues. Massage oil, handouts and refreshments are provided. Individual sessions or very small groups (2-3) can be arranged in your own home. Please contact me to discuss.
