Scott Roe, aka Boohai, is an ecologist, recording artist, writer, and community builder with over three decades of creative and environmental work behind him.
He has produced and managed projects spanning music, theatre, circus, and the visual arts, run an independent record label, and managed artists across multiple disciplines. Throughout all of it, a constant thread: gathering people together outside the mainstream — building small, unconventional communities of creatives and giving them a place to belong. Add to that years of living off-grid, growing his own fruit, vegetables, and herbs, and managing land. A lifelong fascination with plants, rooted in the herbal traditions he encountered in Cornwall in the nineties, has recently taken shape as formal herbalist training.
At the heart of everything Boohai does is a fierce belief in the underdog, in the people on the edges and the cracks of society who carry remarkable, often unseen skills and ways of seeing the world. His driving passion is spotting that potential and building something around it.
Bron Yr Aur Micronation is the fullest expression of that vision , a new kind of nation built differently from the ground up, people and place first, where creativity, sustainability, wellbeing and genuine belonging aren’t afterthoughts. They’re the absolute beating heart.
