Is It Possible to Change Someone or Something with Intention?... Yes.

I recently reread the brilliant book "The Shaman in Stilettos" by Anna Hunt, and this quote stopped me in my tracks because it speaks so deeply to something I believe wholeheartedly:

"Intention changes everything."

The older I get, the more I understand that intention is not just a thought. It is energy. It is frequency. It is a force that shapes how we show up in the world and how the world responds to us.

When our intentions are clear, grounded, and aligned with love, healing, compassion, and growth, they have the power to lift, transform, and create change in ways we may never fully understand.

This resonates profoundly in the horse world.

Our horses feel far more than our words. They feel our energy, our emotions, our presence, and our intentions. Every interaction carries a frequency. Every touch, every training session, every moment in the barn is an exchange of energy.

As horse owners, riders, trainers, and caregivers, we have the opportunity to be our horses' greatest advocates and, in many ways, their healers. Not because we can fix everything, but because the intention we bring into the relationship matters.

When we approach our horses with patience instead of frustration, curiosity instead of judgment, and connection instead of control, we create space for trust, healing, and partnership.

The energy we give and the energy we receive become part of the story. They are stored within the relationship and influence how we move forward together.

Intention is powerful.

Perhaps more powerful than we realize.

What frequency are you bringing to your horse today?

๐Ÿ“ธ I thought it would be funny to put a picture of Dolly having her feet done,... although she doesn't wear Stilettos, she definitely has a shaman in her ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ’œ

Where is the year going?.....

Over the next couple of months my diary is pretty crammed and with some exciting things happening which I will share nearer the time... Im taking booking well into spring 2027 already so when you keep getting asked to do a rider biomachics and treatment clinic, I thought I best get planning.

I am excited to announce that Millie (the mechanical horse) and I have a date in the diary in the NN11 area for the 17th/18th October. ๐ŸŽ‰

The clinic will combine riders assessment on movement on Millie, tools to find a better balance and harmony in the saddle and addressed tension through bodywork ....

I have a list already for this clinic and will be adding an event shortly.

If you are interested in this clinic or want to host one or if anyone is interested into collaboration and doing a combine clinic, get in touch.

Why would you not fit to the potential of your horse's healthy back and posture?

I recently heard someone say:

"If you fit to the skeletal structure, you very rarely need to widen the saddle."

That statement genuinely sent shivers down my spine.

If we're only fitting the horse we see standing in front of us today, are we really fitting the horse... or are we fitting the compensation?

A healthy horse isn't static.

A healthy back lifts.
A healthy ribcage widens.
A healthy body changes as posture, muscle development and biomechanics improve.

So why would we fit a saddle that only accommodates the horse in its weakest posture?

Surely our goal should be to support healthy movement, freedom, and correct development, not restrict it.

When we understand that horses move, develop and change, saddle fitting becomes about far more than matching a tree to a skeleton. It's about creating space for the horse to lift through the back, move freely, develop healthy muscle and reach its potential.

For me, saddle fitting isn't about chasing today's shape.

It's about fitting for the horse we are helping them become.

For the good of the horse.

Why I Love Bowen Therapy So Much!

People often ask me why I'm so passionate about Bowen Therapy. The answer is simple: because I've seen what happens when the body is finally given the opportunity to let go.

Bowen isn't about forcing change. It isn't about manipulating muscles into submission. It's about working with the body's incredible intelligence.

The gentle, precise Bowen moves stimulate the fascia, the remarkable web of connective tissue that surrounds every muscle, organ, nerve, and joint. Modern research continues to reveal that fascia isn't just packing material; it's a highly responsive communication network filled with sensory receptors that constantly relay information to the brain about tension, movement, and safety.

When fascia becomes restricted through injury, stress, trauma, repetitive movement, or compensation, those restrictions can affect the way the entire body functions. They don't just limit movementโ€”they can also influence pain, posture, circulation, and the nervous system itself.

One of the most fascinating aspects of Bowen Therapy is its ability to encourage the nervous system to shift away from "fight or flight" and into a more regulated, restorative state. When the body feels safe, muscles soften, breathing deepens, circulation improves, and natural healing processes can begin. Often, the physical release is accompanied by an emotional or energetic release too. Anyone who has experienced Bowenโ€”or watched a horse receive itโ€”will recognise those deep sighs, yawns, blinking eyes, softening expressions, or even the spontaneous shaking that can occur as stored tension is released.

This is why Bowen can be so powerful for both humans and horses.

Horses are masters at reflecting what is happening within their bodies. When horses tell us they're carrying stress, they show us through movement, behaviour, and posture. When restrictions in the fascia begin to unwind and the nervous system settles, we often see a horse become freer in its movement, softer in its expression, and more comfortable in itself.

Humans are no different. We also store stress, tension, and the effects of life's experiences within our bodies. Sometimes what we've been carrying isn't just physical, it's the imprint of everything we've been through. Bowen creates the space for the body to reorganise itself naturally, without force.

That is what continues to amaze me. Its my go to everything and why I wholeheartedly believe in good myofascial work of any kind. If it wasn't for Bowen, I literally wouldn't be waking now and it changed my life 20+ years ago and I have such gratitude for this gentle yet utterly powerful modality.

It's not about "fixing" people or horses. It's about creating the conditions where the body remembers how to heal itself.

Every session reminds me that healing doesn't always have to be loud or dramatic. Sometimes the most profound changes happen through the gentlest touch.

And that's exactly why I love Bowen Therapy so much. ๐Ÿ’œ&โœŒ๏ธ
