📣 | Stephanie: Caring beyond the service 💙

At Lauriem, compassion doesn’t stop when the work day ends.

Stephanie, one of our incredible Managers, quietly volunteers in her spare time, supporting people facing isolation due to medical conditions and mental health challenges.

She’s completed almost 200 volunteer tasks through Good Samaritan, including:
✨ Escorting individuals to chemotherapy appointments
✨ Sitting with those experiencing mental health crises

And she shared something that truly stayed with us:
“I have never told anyone that I do this; I do it because I feel like I make a difference in a small way that matters.”

This is what care is all about. Not just a role but a mindset. A commitment to people, community, and kindness.

We’re so proud to have people like Stephanie in our team, making a difference every single day, in ways big and small.

⚠️ Heat Health Alert Ongoing – Please Stay Safe ☀️

The UKHSA amber heat-health alert is still ongoing, ending tomorrow, Wednesday 27 May, as rising temperatures continue to pose increased risks to vulnerable people, especially older adults and those with existing health conditions.

For our incredible community care teams and the people you support:
✅ Keep homes cool (close curtains/blinds)
✅ Encourage regular hydration
✅ Avoid peak heat where possible (11am–3pm)
✅ Check in frequently with vulnerable individuals
✅ Be alert to signs of heat exhaustion

🩵 A huge thank you to all our teams who worked tirelessly throughout the long weekend in challenging conditions.

🌟As we reach the end of this heatwave, let’s continue to look out for one another and ensure everyone stays safe.
