Hi all I thought I would give our walks a chance until the end of the year. But with a heavy heart I think it’s time to wind down Maidstone Mental Health Mates.

There was no one today, those who are regulars also join in at Mote Park parkrun as walkers or volunteers.

It feels that with the ending of the Mental Health Mates Charity our little walk has also run its course.

Life is very busy for me too and I’m struggling to organise and make sure I’m there. Especially when like today I know it’s just me.

Thank you to everyone who has joined a walk. Thought about joining a walk. Or shared the information. 🧡

Also a massive thanks to bryonygordon for leading me on this adventure and also helping me learn when it’s time to say goodbye!

It is race for life in the park all weekend with the main event tomorrow. Therefore our July walk is sadly cancelled!

After the sad news that Mental Health Mates the central organisation is closing. Our walks will continue for 2026 which means the next one is tomorrow! 11.30am.

We are aware of this and it’s such sad news. As it stands our walks for 2026 will continue without change. 🧡
