ClearView Counselling & Psychotherapy

ClearView Counselling & Psychotherapy ClearView Counselling & Psychotherapy is based in Maldon, Essex offering counselling to Individuals. I specialise in working with male clients, and adolescents.

I have over a decade of professional experience in helping adults and young people (under the age of 18) overcome many social and emotional issues including working with named mental health diagnosis and conditions. I have extensive experience and ability to work with a variety of Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health conditions including depression, gender identity, stress and anxiety, anger, low

self-worth and self esteem, bereavement, change and poor coping strategies such as self harm, para-suicidal behaviour and ideation and illicit substance / alcohol misuse. Treatment can take a number of different forms; I work alongside each person in order to create an intervention that's tailored to meet their own specific needs. I work in an integrative way which includes Solution Focused Brief Therapy techniques, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy approaches (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Reflective Practice including Reflective Questioning and Active Listening. I also incorporate family systems work into my practice. I am fully committed to my own personal and professional development which includes a commitment to regular clinical supervision as I believe this is key to being a competent practitioner. I am only too aware of the fear involved in asking for help. I believe strongly, that by working alongside each other together we can process your fears and move you into a happier, more confident and productive place in your life. In my experience the journey out of problematic behaviours, social, family and general life entanglements is difficult to resolve alone, I am here to help, and offer my services and experience to assist you with finding your way forward.

One of the things we've always noticed in emotional regulation work is that theory alone isn't enough.

That gap between understanding and doing comes up constantly.

Take grief. Or frustration. Or even love and pleasure.

These aren't emotions people often associate with regulation work but they're exactly the kind of experiences that catch us off guard. Grief that resurfaces unexpectedly. Frustration that builds before we've even noticed it arriving. Love and pleasure that feel overwhelming in their own way or leave us unsure how to stay present with them.

Each of these needs something different. A different kind of recognition. A different skill. A different pace.

That's why AniMoods was designed the way it is. Each card links a specific emotional experience to actionable skills, broken down step by step. Some cards explore what's happening emotionally. Others give evidence based strategies to respond effectively.

Not one approach for every emotion. Something that meets each experience where it is.

Flexible enough to use in a session, at home or in groups. Whichever context fits.

Emotions don't wait for a convenient moment.

They come online in a corridor, in the middle of a session, in the car on the way home. Not always when there's time to think things through.

What helps in those moments is having something practical to reach for.

AniMoods was built for exactly that. Each card highlights an emotion, explores what it might feel like and offers clear evidence-based skills to respond with intention rather than react automatically.

Not perfection. Just a pause, and a path forward.

And it turns out we're not the only ones who think so.

We've just received this from a practitioner trialling the cards with students in the USA:

"Your cards open up doors that both I and my students didn't realise opened. They are pretty amazing."

We built AniMoods to bridge the gap between emotional regulation theory and the moments it's actually needed. Hearing that it's already doing that in classrooms, across the Atlantic, before we've even launched means everything!

AniMoods is going global. And it starts in 3 days.
