PROPOSED NEW CREMATORIUM FOR CHELMSFORD

Last night, Paul attended a meeting for local Funeral Directors to preview the plans for Chelmsford City Council’s proposed new crematorium and cemetery at West Hanningfield.

The proposals include two chapels, modern cremation facilities, extensive new cemetery provision and landscaped memorial grounds.

It was a valuable opportunity to see the plans first-hand, ask questions and consider how the new facilities could best serve bereaved families across Chelmsford and the surrounding area.

The proposals are now open for public consultation, and we would encourage local residents to take a look and have their say.

A lovely village show completed today in Steeple that we have supported for well over a decade. Was a challenging day though as Molly our hearse woke up "Grumpy" at 7.30am so we left her in bed. Then after getting all the fleet there, Dolly the limousine decided she didn't want any air in her front tyre anymore!! The joys of running a classic fleet. (Only classic car owners will know that feeling of love/hate days)

An evening classic car show last night at The Star pub in Steeple. A lovely family night out for the community with a lovely fish and chip supper. Great to see so many people sharing the love of all things classic.

A weekend spent getting our Daimlers looking their best ready for Steeple Vintage Gathering on Sunday 23rd August. They scrub up well given they are 77 years old. Always a well supported little village event.

A day slightly out of our normal area into Suffolk....A Funeral at Historic Clare Priory

We had the privilege of looking after a funeral at the beautiful and historic Clare Priory in Clare, Suffolk.

Set peacefully beside the River Stour, Clare Priory has been a place of prayer and reflection for more than 775 years, having been established in 1248. It is one of the oldest religious houses in England and was the first home of the Augustinian Friars in this country.

Like many religious houses, the Priory was affected by the Dissolution of the Monasteries in the 16th century and subsequently passed into private ownership. Remarkably, the Augustinian Friars returned to Clare in 1953, once again making the Priory a centre for worship, prayer and retreat.

Today, Clare Priory and the Mother of Good Counsel Church serve the local Catholic community, while the historic buildings and beautiful grounds provide a wonderfully peaceful and dignified setting.

It was a privilege for our team to be entrusted to support the family in such a special and historic place.
