In today’s digital world, anyone can post medical advice online but not all of it is accurate.
When it comes to CPR and life-saving first aid, misinformation has the potential to cost lives.
Confidence to act in an emergency comes from learning evidence-based skills from qualified professionals. When someone suffers a cardiac arrest, every second counts, and a confident bystander can make the difference between life and death.
This week, Resuscitation Council UK published an important article highlighting the growing challenge of CPR misinformation on social media.

ℹ️For those who may not know, Resuscitation Council UK is a healthcare charity and the UK’s national expert body responsible for setting the clinical standards for CPR and resuscitation. Established in 1983, they develop evidence-based guidelines, educate healthcare professionals and lead public awareness campaigns to improve survival from cardiac arrest.
