Hello… I’m a bat.
I don’t suck blood, and I definitely don’t want to get tangled in your hair.

If I accidentally end up in your house,
please don’t hit me with sticks or brooms.
It hurts—and I’m just as scared as you are.
I didn’t mean to frighten you. It was a mistake.

If I land somewhere, I might not be able to fly again without help.
Just gently use a towel to guide me outside—I’ll take off right away, I promise.

I eat mosquitoes and other insects that bother you.
But our homes are disappearing, torn down for buildings, and we’re running out of safe places to go.
So if I fly inside by mistake, just turn off the indoor lights, switch on the outdoor one, and leave a door or window open.
I’ll find my way out in no time.
