Guests often say they haven’t cooked the courgette tart from our book because the recipe doesn’t have a photo. So here’s photos of how to make it. First make the base by pressing in blitzed seeds (pumpkin, sunflower, h**p and Nigella here) and baking for 10mins until the edges brown as per photo. Then press on grated courgette using a fork, add a little soya cream or similar, season and bake until cooked - approx 30mins at 150C.

It’s a tasty nutrient dense lunch, we served it with a butter bean, miso, cabbage warm side dish.

A great way of using delicious courgettes. Enjoy!

Looking back at photos from 17y ago, June 9th, the day I moved here - I woke early the next day, so excited to see it all - this was taken at 4.50am, a magical misty start to the day. And this haven still feels magical and it still enthralls me and most people who stay here too.

But now I’m ready to start the next phase of my life - my freedom phase, free-lifing phase (I feel we need a different term than ‘retirement’)

So if you’d like to run your own business - here’s an opportunity- maybe continue our Ayurveda and yoga retreats - which are definitely in demand, or maybe just have a funky 5-storey mill as your home and run a holiday let business. I’ve had writers here, musicians, artists, even a vicars retreat!! There’s no end to the possibilities - do get in touch if you would like to seize the opportunity.

This morning brought a little more Ojas into our hearts - out first wild orchid is blooming today, the first morning of our Ojas Retreat - what timing.

Ojas is a magical substance we have in every cell of our bodies and in our hearts too. It gives us our vitality, longevity, fertility, stamina and feelings of bliss. Our guests are learning how to replenish theirs this weekend. And one of the ways is to experience e a sense of awe or deep joy and this orchid did this for me today - I hope it gives you some too 🥰
