This is all new to me and I had no idea what Béthune would be like, but like … indeed!
Béthune is a really welcoming and warm town in France. The square has an endless choice of places to eat and drink and is the perfect location for your first stop in France.

Lots of beautiful destinations to stop off at and love in France 🇫🇷🩷🚗 A trip I’ve been wanting to do for some time now and it’s been super special so far.

A great time exploring Metz. The gothic cathedral really was breathtaking, with its high vaulted ceilings (I believe one on the highest in the world) and amazing stained glass windows. A must see when in Metz.

There are lots of beautiful buildings to admire and lots of gorgeous food. A great stop.

Fabulous food, and a really special evening out. Thank you Metz, you have been wonderful and tomorrow I move on. New destination… any idea where to next? 🇫🇷

I drove from Manchester to Dover which took 5 hours including a break. The ferry was simple and fast (90 minutes) and I then drove to Bethune which is a town in France one hour from Calais.

Really pretty place for a stop over. Lots of great bars and restaurants and a beautiful square.

Day one in France

Fabulous to watch the athletes so close up, I nearly cried about five times. I don’t know what it is about the athletics, but it makes me so emotional. Maybe One Moment in Time 🎶 1988 is in my head . And a massive shoutout to and our hotel ‘Number 10 Glasgow’ couldn’t have stayed anywhere better. The two young women who were on reception and breakfast were five star ⭐️ and everyone in Glasgow was fabulous.

We headed to for food, games and drinks following our champagne breakfast 🍾

Stockport is really accessible by train 🚂 bus 🚌 or using your legs 🚶‍♀️ It was a great day and a good change from Manchester.

I couldn’t be more proud of my Cola. She received so many compliments on the train about her impeccable behaviour 🩷🩷 and now I get to spend the weekend with her in London.

Train delay and food times off meant I got a little tipsy … oops!

Is your mammogram up to date? I’m always a little apprehensive having my mammogram as I had a lumpectomy ten years ago. But these check ups can identify lumps well before we can, so it’s essential that we go, regardless of how busy we are 🥰
