I met Emma from Emma - Personal Trainer & Running Coach in March 2023. I reached out to her because I was looking to exercise outside (something I’d previously hated as a life long gym goer) and fair weather exerciser. ā˜€ļø

Over the last 3+ years Emma’s coached me through all weather, all moods and an epic injury to get to this point.

Yes I could lift heavier in the gym. But this is functional fitness. Strength to lift the dog into the car, lift my future grandchildren and be able to stand on one leg until I’m 95 (maybe a possible party trick!)

So thank you Emma! I’m 100%?celebrating this win thanks to you šŸ’š

What a lovely evening…

Our art & nutrition collab - the re-run.
The same evening activities, but yet so very different.

Different questions, different energies, different creativity. No one event is ever alike ✨

We’ve loved running these events together and want to keep making them fun, inspiring and different…

Any ideas for themes on the next collab? šŸ™‹šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

What the easy peeler!!šŸŠ

8 chemicals and 2 waxes - why? Because they have travelled from South Africa, sat in a warehouse, transported across the world and then sat on a supermarket shelf for goodness knows how long!

Organic fruit and veg doesn’t last as long… I get it but seriously the amount of toxins sprayed on a single easer peeler is just insane.

Endocrine (hormone) disruptors, carcinogens, irritants, hazardous substances…

It begs to wonder whether the benefits of eating it are outweighed by the amount of toxins on it and in it?

It shouldn’t be this way.

Try to make a better choice - shop in local markets, find a local veg box scheme and ask the questions.

If affordability is an issue always wash it, with water or a water and vinegar wash… and please never eat the peel. 😳

Do you want to be part of my Tropic team?

When I joined Tropic I was dubious, I didn’t understand. I thought it was just another beauty brand and lots of other women were doing it. But then I realised how many woman buy other big brands like Clinque, Molton Brown, Clarins… most of Sephora (I know I used to)!

All full of toxins, chemicals, preservatives – all endocrine disruptors that mess with our hormones. The shocking part is that few women realise.

For every woman and girl I can guide towards using less toxic products on their skin, I see as a win. It goes hand-in-hand with my values and the things I talk about everyday.

Iā€˜m also part of a brand with purpose – it gives back to projects that donate free school days in less fortunate countries, that supports regeneration of barrier reef, and does more than just line its pockets.

What I hadn’t expected was to gain a community of women and friends who are supportive, positive and cheer you on – no matter what. It can be lonely working for yourself.

A second source of income, a lifetime discount on skincare and beauty and a business I can fit alongside nutrition.

My rules, My time. My way.

I’ll admit I got a hell of a lot more than I’d signed up for…

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little a little sceptical when I started my Tropic business a year ago. I LOVED the products, the discounts and the community looked fun and super supportive.

Plus it sat so well alongside everything I was doing as a Nutritional Therapist.

Championing certified organic and naturally derived skincare was easy - Endocrine disruptors are something I’m talking increasing about especially in women’s health and cancer. The more I learn scientifically, the more I feel a disservice if I don’t share.

But what I hadn’t actually bargained for was:

* The huge group of fun and super supportive women who instantly have my back and offered me support

* Business knowledge and advice that is helping both my businesses

* The courage to push myself out of my comfort zone in so many ways, but in my own way with no pressure.

* The flexibility to do what I want, whenever I want to fit with me

* Financial support and the ability to earn even when I’m not working. (A novelty after years of self employment)

* A bigger belief in myself.

A company built for women. A company with more than just a purpose - that’s why it’s different.

So, yesterday I attended this weekend’s ā€˜Leap to Leader’ training because I’ve committed to growing my own team.

To give other women the opportunity to do the same…

because there really is a lot more women who need empowering and toxic skincare that needs removing from the shelves to make this world a happier and healthy place!

Is anyone else finding this heat completely draining?

I love a bit of sunshine as much as the next person, but after a few days of hot weather I’m usually feeling less ā€œsummer glowā€ and more ā€œwhere did my energy go?ā€

When temperatures rise, it’s easy to forget the basics. We drink less than we need, skip meals because we’re not hungry, and wonder why we feel tired, sluggish or headachey by mid-afternoon.

The good news? Your body doesn’t need anything complicated right now.

A little more water.
A few electrolytes.
Regular meals, even if they’re lighter than usual.
And perhaps permission to slow down a little.

I’ve put together my top tips for staying well in the heat, including some simple meal ideas that don’t require turning the oven on.

Swipe through and let me know - are you thriving in this weather or secretly looking forward to cooler days?
