Not for the weak, but we wouldn’t change it for the world! To all soon to be qualified Sport Rehabilitators, Therapists and Physios —> don’t go into sport thinking it’s the easy life!!! We work 8-4, plus evenings plus weekends. We don’t get holidays to take all year, just the off season. But don’t forget, if there’s injured players, kiss good bye to your off season 🥲 We don’t get dinner breaks like you do in the NHS Because what the HELL is a protected dinner break?? We spend half the week travelling for fixtures, up and down the country, which adds anything from 30mins to 8hours onto your day!!?!?! Or it becomes a stay over - which means you lose another day too!! BUTTTT imagine working with athletes every day, who strive to be their ultimate best, and allow you to reach your absolute best in the process! Not having to sit at a desk, and being able to travel for work too. The hands on work and creativity that it gives you. Imagine everything you do, being the 1% difference, the ultimate competition every single day. Christmas Do’s and end of season Do’s to celebrate in a proper way, not just a few drinks at the local pub. And in the end, a family that you create through sport! 🥹
If you are sure about it, it will pay you back in full and then some. If you’re needing any support, there is a big wide network at your disposal, and to any graduates who need help getting their foot in the door - I’m more than happy to share my contacts and experience 🩵
