The school holidays are great… until you realise you're still working while your child is very much not at school! 😂

Trying to concentrate while answering “Can I…?”, “Where's my…?”, “I'm hungry” and “I'm bored” for the 47th time of the day takes a special kind of patience!

If you're juggling work and an ADHD child at home this summer, you're definitely not alone. ❤️

How's everyone coping so far? 😂

Is it just me, or does “I'm bored” arrive about 12 minutes after the excitement of the school holidays wears off? 😂

There could be a house full of things to do, but apparently there is NOTHING. TO. DO.

If you're working and trying to keep everyone occupied at the same time, I see you! 🙋‍♀️

What's been the first sign that the holiday boredom has kicked in at your house? 😂

We're well into the U.K. school holidays… and if you're a working parent with an ADHD child, you'll know that “holiday” doesn't necessarily mean holiday for you! 😂

Thank goodness for things like Life360 when your child heads out with the very detailed explanation of “I'm just going out…” 😬

Anyone else already doing the mental calculations of where are they, who are they with, and have they actually eaten today? 😂

As one academic year comes to an end, it's easy to start thinking about what's next.

But before we rush forward, perhaps we should pause and ask:

What are you taking into next year — and what are you leaving behind?

I'd love to hear yours. 👇

Have you ever heard someone say, "They're absolutely fine at school"?

For some young people, what we see in school is only part of the story. This post explores why some children appear to cope well during the day but struggle once they're home, and why it's important to look beyond appearances.

Understanding what happens beneath the surface can help us offer the right support at the right time. 💙

Some young people stay with you long after they've left your classroom, school, or care.

Especially the ones you couldn't quite reach.

If you've ever wondered whether your efforts made a difference, this reflection is for you.

Have you ever had a young person you still think about?

The recent public conversations about eating disorders have reminded me of something important.

Rather than commenting on or speculating about anyone's health, I'd rather use this moment to remind anyone who may be struggling that you are not alone.

Eating disorders can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender or body size. They are serious mental health conditions, and with the right support, recovery is possible.

If recent media discussions have brought up difficult thoughts or feelings about food, body image or your relationship with yourself, please don't suffer in silence.

Speak to your GP or reach out to BEAT the UK's eating disorder charity, for specialist advice and support.

Let's choose compassion over judgement and remember that every person deserves kindness, dignity and understanding.

This is the first post in a series exploring ADHD and Autism, with a focus on understanding the "why" behind behaviours that are often misunderstood.

Many responses we see as challenging, rude, or defiant can have a very different explanation. By looking beyond the behaviour itself, we can build understanding, strengthen relationships, and respond in ways that genuinely help.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences as we work through this series together. 💙
