Lesley Nance Therapy

Lesley Nance Therapy I help women build self-esteem and change the patterns keeping them stuck. I'm a therapist helping women stop repeating patterns and start living differently.

Using therapy, coaching and hypnotherapy, we uncover what’s driving those patterns, including around food, self-image, confidence and weight. I work with clients who may be insightful and self-aware, but still find themselves stuck in familiar cycles - choosing situations or people that aren't right for them, saying yes when they mean no, or feeling not enough despite everything they've tried. Through an integrative approach that blends counselling and coaching, we move from insight to action. This work is direct, supportive, and focused on real change - not endless processing. Based in Manchester, working with clients across the UK and worldwide online. Free consultation available.

Being single can be hard.
But it's extra hard when we use it as proof that we aren't enough, and create a story about ourselves around it.

Being single is a circumstance.
It isn't proof of anything.

You can be disappointed. You can be lonely. You can desperately want a relationship.

None of those things mean you're not enough. ❤️

If you've caught yourself turning being single into a judgement about yourself, you're definitely not the only one

Sometimes when things go wrong, we can be so quick to jump to the conclusion it must be us.

Why do we do that to ourselves?

Why does everything have to become a “me problem”?

16/09/2026

We can be so quick to make something going wrong, mean something is wrong with us.

Something isn't working. A relationship doesn't work out. We make a mistake.

That's information about what's happening.
It has nothing to do with who you are.

You can take responsibility for your part without beating yourself up.

Put the stick down. 💛

If this is something you recognise in yourself, send me a DM and we can talk about it.

We’re so quick to assume we’re the problem when something doesn’t work out.

But something not working doesn't automatically mean you did something wrong.

Sometimes it just means it didn't work. 💛

Do you do this too? Let me know in the comments.

14/09/2026

Yet again, that thing you desperately hoped would work out didn’t. And now you’re floored.

And you're asking:
“What am I doing wrong?”
“What am I missing?”
“Why can't I get this right?”

And before you know it, you're no longer just dealing with the heartache.

You're making that pain mean something about you.

I see this all the time in the women I work with. They start making what isn't working for them mean that something is wrong with them.

But its just information.

It doesn't tell you that you're not good enough.
It doesn't tell you what you're worth.
It doesn't tell you what you deserve.
And it certainly doesn't mean you need fixing.

So, be angry.
Be hurt.
Be frustrated.

Wish things had turned out differently.

Just don't turn “this isn't working” into “there's something wrong with me.”

Because circumstances tell you what's happening.

They don't tell you who you are.

If you keep turning difficult circumstances into proof that something's wrong with you, send me a DM. We can talk about it.

How long can you wait for something before you start believing that the fact you haven’t got it means there’s something wrong with you?

Whatever it may be - the job, the relationship, the confidence you thought you’d have by now

And when it doesn’t happen, it can be really easy to turn the situation into a statement about yourself.

“I’m obviously doing something wrong.”

“Maybe I’m just not good enough.”

“Other people seem to have it figured out. Why can’t I?”

But there’s a difference between something not happening and deciding what that something says about you.

Maybe the problem isn’t that it hasn’t happened yet.

Maybe it’s what you’ve decided that means about you.

Because when you repeatedly interpret disappointment as evidence that there's something wrong with you, you’re no longer just dealing with the original situation.

You’re carrying a story about yourself as well.

And that can start influencing how you see yourself, the choices you make, what you believe you deserve and what you’re willing to go after.

Not having it yet doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you.

What have you been waiting for that you’ve started to believe says something about you? 💛

Being chosen feels amazing. ❤️

But when being wanted, loved or chosen becomes proof that you’re worthy, what happens when circumstances change?

Your relationship status, other people’s opinions, your job, your friendships, none of these things can be a permanent measure of your worth.

You deserve to feel good enough without having to keep looking outside yourself for proof.

DM me if you wanna talk about it.

Sometimes we do something for so long that we stop seeing it as something we do and start seeing it as who we are.

But just because it’s familiar, doesn’t mean it’s fixed.

Who said it had to stay that way?

07/09/2026

Sometimes something you do becomes something you believe you are.

You put something off. “I’m lazy.”
You give up. “I can’t stick to anything.”
You struggle with something. “I’m just not good at it.”

But what if you stopped treating those labels as facts?

What have you stopped trying because of something you believe about yourself? 👀

Ever notice how we just go through life accepting who we are as fact?“I've always been like this.”“This is just who I am...

Ever notice how we just go through life accepting who we are as fact?

“I've always been like this.”
“This is just who I am.”
“I can't change.”

But is it? Can you?

Is that actually who you are?

Or is it a story you've told yourself for so long that you believe it now?

Just because we tell ourselves something doesn't make it true, even if we DO believe it.

Maybe some of the things you've decided are just “you” deserve another look. ❤️
