Thanks in abundance to everyone that came along to our coffee morning on Friday. Those who bought tickets, drank coffee, ate cake, baked or donated, every penny really did count. Macmillan 2026 raised a whopping £1150. A proportion of our funds raised on the day will stay local and will be taken to Macmillan Wellbeing Centre at Trafford General hospital where people in our wonderful community gain some benefit from the provision.
Thanks so much, the team at TCO ❤️

🌞 Partial Solar Eclipse: Wednesday 12 August 2026 🌞
A partial solar eclipse will be visible across the UK on Wednesday 12 August. While this is an exciting event, it is important to remember that looking directly at the Sun without proper protection can cause permanent eye damage, even during an eclipse when the Sun appears dimmer.
⚠️ Ordinary sunglasses are not safe for viewing an eclipse. They reduce brightness but do not protect your eyes from harmful solar radiation.
To watch the eclipse safely:
✅ Use certified eclipse glasses that meet the international safety standard ISO 12312-2:2015(E).
✅ Make sure the glasses are not scratched, damaged or out of date.
✅ If you do not have eclipse glasses, use indirect viewing methods such as a pinhole projector or observing the Sun's projected image.
☁️ Cloud cover does not make it safe to look directly at the Sun.
Enjoy this rare astronomical event, but please protect your eyesight while doing so.
