What is it about being so busy, so overstretched, overwhelmed that becomes so habitual?

When did we become so accustomed to filling every gap, every space in our day with something?

Is there a discomfort in stillness for you? A recoil at even the thought of a break?

Let’s explore this together.

Small in person gathering, 8 spots left, for our half day breathwork retreat to savour slowness.

Saturday 18th July 10:00 - 14:00
Tickets only £35 plus small eventbrite fee

Reclaiming rest, reconnecting to who we are 💙

In need of a cooling breath practice right now?

Try the Sitali Breath 💙

“Cooling Breath”

A yogic breathing technique designed to cool the body and calm the nervous system. When you inhale through a curled tongue (or pursed lips, if you can’t curl your tongue), the air passing over the moist surface creates an evaporative cooling effect, similar to how sweat cools your skin. This is thought to lower body temperature slightly and shift the nervous system toward a parasympathetic (“rest and digest”) state.

👉 How to....

Sit comfortably: spine tall, shoulders relaxed, eyes closed or softly focused downward.

Form the tongue shape: stick your tongue out slightly and curl the sides upward, forming a tube or “straw” shape. If you can’t curl your tongue, purse the lips instead.

Inhale 8 times through the curled tongue: you’ll feel the cool air on your tongue.

Close your mouth and exhale 8 beats through your nose.

Repeat for 8–12 rounds, or a few minutes.

Return to normal breathing and notice how you feel. Most people feel noticeably calmer and cooler.

Best practiced on an empty-ish stomach.

Avoid if you have low blood pressure, severe respiratory conditions, or sinus congestion (since it relies on open nasal breathing for the exhale), and check with a doctor if you have asthma or chronic respiratory issues.

It’s commonly paired with other pranayama practices like Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) - check out our instagram for a demo of this practice too.

Happy breathing! Let us know how you get on 🫶🏻

We live in such a busy, fast paced, over consuming, information overloaded world. Juggling work, family, hobbies, school, personal development, exercise, maintaining relationships, managing life admin and endless to-do lists.

This way of living, of being constantly on the go, plugged in, always contactable, always with more and more to do- emails, messages, news, mental and physical overload.

It makes it harder and harder to just be.

But we need to unplug. To switch off. To pause. To rest. To allow our minds and emotions and spirit space to breathe.

This is why we are hosting Savouring Slowness next month in Manchester. 4 luxurious hours to set down whatever we are carrying. To remind ourselves it is possible to slow down. It is vital we take a pause and rest.

Movement, Meditation, Reflection, Breathwork.

Saturday 12th July 10:00 - 14:00

Tickets only £35 plus small eventbrite fee. Only 8 spots left. And if cost is prohibitive, please reach out to us so we can help 🙏🏻

Sometimes the endless busyness, the to-do’s, the lists take us away from enjoying the little pockets of pleasure in life.

En route from work last week, thinking of the endless tasks that needed tending to — sitting to watch this little jazz number was not one of them. The impulse to walk past was so strong. I just didn’t have time or so I thought. The dialogue to continue home was loud, but guess what.. I stayed!

Grateful to have slowed down, pause and soak up the beats. Even for a short time. In that moment, to listen with presence, to feel and hear those medicinal notes quench my thirst for joy. It’s funny how we try to convince ourselves the very things that enrich us and bring about pleasure, we simply don’t have time for. It’s easy to feed that story of being too busy and always rushing through life. Even if for a short time, find the time pause and slow down.

Our next breathwork, Savouring Slowness.

Come and join us to gather, connect and enjoy this tempo of life.

Next month we gather in person as a quiet act of rebellion in this busy and overwhelming world….

We gather to honour and savour

slowness.

What does the thought of stopping, pausing, being still, ignite in you?

What would it mean to slow down?

If the very idea of taking a quiet minute to yourself is daunting or feels impossible, this is your permission, your call.
