| Glenn Sh*tama (22/11/2002) of no fixed abode, has been charged with the murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

He is due to appear at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court at 9:30am today.

This follows the death of a man on Chapel Street, Levenshulme at around 7:06pm on Saturday 15 August 2026.

| The brother of a man who sadly died following an incident in on Saturday has paid tribute to him.

Police were called to reports of a man who suffered serious stab wounds on Chapel Street at around 7:06pm on Saturday 15 August 2026. Despite the best efforts of emergency services personnel, a 24‑year‑old man sadly died at the scene.

He has now been named by his family as Zherko Rasul Osman, and they are being supported by specialist officers at this time.

In a tribute, Zherko’s brother said: “My brother was a kind, friendly and loving person who never looked for trouble or wanted to harm anyone. He was loved and respected by his friends, his mates and the neighbours in the community where he lived. He had a good heart and would always be remembered for the warmth and happiness he brought to those around him.

"His life was taken so suddenly and for no reason, leaving a pain and emptiness that words cannot describe. We are heartbroken that someone who was loved by so many is no longer here. He deserved to live his life and make memories with the people he loved.

"He will never be forgotten. His smile, his kindness and the memories we shared with him will stay in our hearts forever. We love you, and we will miss you every single day.”

| A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in Levenshulme.

Officers were called to reports of a man who suffered serious stab wounds on Chapel Street at around 7:06pm.

Despite the best efforts of emergency services personnel, a 24-year-old man sadly died at the scene.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody.

| Three men have been sentenced after string of burglaries and vehicle thefts.

In the early morning of 11 March 2026, Manchester’s central neighbourhood team executed five search warrants as part of the investigation, which saw several properties targeted in and throughout January.

Officers visited five addresses as part of their enquiries – one in Cheshire, one in West Yorkshire, and two in Greater Manchester, in the areas of Wythenshawe and Stretford.

Within the Frodsham area of Cheshire, a chop-shop was located, in which cars were having their parts removed to be sold on for illicit gain.

Joel Wolfenden, Kamran Khan and Graham Cooke, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary.

Across the searches eight vehicles were recovered on suspicion of being stolen.

CHARGED | Keenan Bailey (11/07/1998) of Aston Avenue, Fallowfield, has been charged with possession of a Class B controlled drug. He has been bailed until his court appearance at Stockport Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 6th November 2026.

Another man was bailed pending enquiries. The charges relate a warrant executed in Fallowfield following intelligence developed by local neighbourhood officers policing the area, supported by our intelligence teams.

This operation is a clear example of neighbourhood policing in action. Officers who know their communities identified suspected criminal activity, built the intelligence picture and took direct action to disrupt it.
