🧠 Award-winning innovation in brain technology

We’re delighted to share some exciting news from iMediSync.

iSyncMe, the technology behind the qEEG brain mapping system we use at Refocus The Brain Hub, is an iF Design Award 2026 winner and is now featured in the iF Design 2026 Winners’ Virtual Exhibition. 🏆

The interactive exhibition allows visitors to explore the virtual space and discover this innovative technology in more detail.

At Refocus The Brain Hub, we’re proud to offer qEEG Brain Mapping using iMediSync technology, providing objective insights into patterns of brain activity that can complement clinical assessment and help inform personalised recommendations.

🧠 What if your brain worked like an office?

Meet some of the team working behind the scenes — managing focus, memory, emotions, motivation, movement and even your body’s basic needs.

Different regions. Different jobs. One incredibly connected brain.

And because every brain works a little differently, understanding yours matters.

At Refocus The Brain Hub, that’s where we start: understanding the brain, not just the symptoms.

Precision brain care. Focused on you. 🧠✨

🌒 Some of the best things we can do for our brains don’t feel like “brain training” at all.

They look like adventures.

Laughter. New places. Curiosity. Time with people we love. 💛

Positive experiences together help us build memories, connection and a sense of belonging. Novel experiences also engage attention, learning and memory systems — giving our brains something new to notice, process and remember. 🧠✨

So while Rhea & Axon are busy looking up at the solar eclipse, here’s their little reminder:
Look up. Be curious. Share the moment. Make the memory. 🌒☀️

Because looking after your brain isn’t only about sleep, exercise and nutrition.

Sometimes, it’s about living a life your brain wants to remember. 💗

🧠 What if supporting your brain could start with light?

Photobiomodulation (PBM) uses near-infrared light to support cellular energy and brain function — a growing area of neuroscience research exploring potential effects on cognition, attention, mood and memory.

At Refocus The Brain Hub, we use the iSyncMe, a wearable PBM system designed to deliver near-infrared light across targeted areas of the brain.

But for us, the technology is only part of the story.

🧠 Every brain is different.

That’s why our neuroscience approach starts with understanding your brain. Where appropriate, we can use qEEG brain mapping alongside clinical information to help build a more individualised picture rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

Swipe ➡️ to see some of the research areas being explored with PBM, including focus, mood and memory.

✨ Curious about your brain — and whether PBM could be appropriate for you?

🧠 Why does Refocus use NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback?

Because your brain isn't the same from one moment to the next.

Unlike traditional protocol-based neurofeedback, NeurOptimal® doesn't train your brain towards a predetermined target or follow a fixed protocol.

Instead, it continuously monitors your brain's activity and provides real-time feedback, allowing your brain to recognise its own patterns and naturally optimise the way it functions.

That's why we chose it.

✔ No fixed protocols
✔ No one-size-fits-all approach
✔ Adapts moment by moment to your brain's activity
✔ Suitable for children and adults
✔ Supports the brain's natural ability to self-regulate

Every brain is unique. Every session is unique.

At Refocus, we believe neuroscience should work with your brain—not assume every brain needs the same training.

🧠 Understanding your brain is always the first step. Helping it function at its best is the next.

🧠 ADHD doesn't disappear with age. It changes.

As children, ADHD is often easier to spot:
🏃 Constant movement.
💬 Talking nonstop.
⚡ Acting before thinking.

As adults, the signs can look very different:
📅 Missed deadlines.
🧠 Constant mental clutter.
😓 Feeling overwhelmed by everyday tasks.
🔄 Starting lots of things but struggling to finish them.

The hyperactivity may become internal, but the brain is still working differently.

Understanding how ADHD evolves across the lifespan helps reduce stigma, improves recognition, and ensures people receive the right support—whether they're 8 or 48.

💬 How has ADHD changed for you over the years?

👀 ADHD isn't always the child who can't sit still.

Sometimes it's the child who seems to be daydreaming during a story...
🧸 Constantly loses toys, school items or jackets...
😔 Becomes overwhelmed by small changes or simple requests...
💭 Appears to be listening but misses important information.

These aren't "bad habits" or laziness. They can reflect differences in how the brain regulates attention, working memory and executive functioning.

Because not every child with ADHD is loud or disruptive, many children—especially those with the inattentive presentation—can go unnoticed for years.

The earlier we recognise the signs, the sooner we can understand what's really happening and give children the right support to thrive.

🧠 When we understand the brain, we change the outcome.

If ADHD and neurodivergence aren't real... then what are we looking at?
Science doesn't ask us to believe. It asks us to follow the evidence.

The upcoming Channel 4 documentary has reignited an important debate.

As clinicians and neuroscientists, we welcome scientific discussion. Challenging ideas is how medicine progresses.

But those discussions must always be guided by evidence, not headlines.

The brain maps below belong to three children.

🧠 One has a brain activity pattern that falls largely within the expected range.

🧠 The other two were independently assessed and diagnosed with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder through comprehensive multidisciplinary assessments.

Notice something?

Although they share the same diagnoses...Their brains don't look the same.

Because there is no single "ADHD brain." There is no single "autistic brain."

Modern neuroscience continues to show that neurodevelopmental conditions are complex, involving differences in brain networks, connectivity and function. Those differences vary from person to person, which is exactly why no two individuals present in the same way—and why no single test can diagnose them.

Science is rarely black and white.

It evolves.

It questions.

It challenges.

And above all...

It follows the evidence.

Whether future research confirms, refines or reshapes our understanding, one principle should never change:

People experiencing genuine difficulties deserve evidence-based assessment, compassion and support—not dismissal.

Because behind every diagnosis is a person.

Behind every person is a brain.

And every brain deserves to be understood.

Brains don't read headlines.

They simply do what they're wired to do.

We encourage respectful, evidence-based discussion. Not because science has all the answers—but because it's the best way we've found to keep asking the right questions.
