I’m often asked, what happens at a prenatal yoga class?

You might be surprised to hear it’s not all about movement 💛

We start with a mantra to find a home for the mind 🕉️
Breathwork helps to centre the body and establish the rhythm of the class 🌊
Movement (of course) opens tightness, relieves heaviness and builds strength and confidence 🌻
Relaxation and guided visualisation or meditation enables deep rest 😌
And a cup of herbal tea creates the chance to connect with others in the community ☕️

All at your own pace, listening to what your body needs that day. No pressure, just peace ✨

Moontide is about to go on a short break for the summer. Last class is 16th August, and I’ll be back first week of September for your weekly pause.

A little reminder of why I love creating these spaces for mums-to-be 🌙

Space to move, breathe, connect with your body, your baby and simply be.

A little time for you, in this beautiful season of becoming. 🌿

Thank you so much for this beautiful review 🤍

There’s something about the full moon 🌝
that invites small rituals that honours the passing of time, the changing sky, the season we’re in.

Not because I believe it magically changes everything (although sometimes it does ✨), but because it offers an opportunity to check in, celebrate the good stuff, let go of what’s no longer serving me, and begin again with intention.

One practice I keep coming back to is a chakra meditation. Moving my awareness through each energy centre with a mantra for each chakra helps me reconnect with myself, notice what feels out of balance, and create a little more space before stepping into a new month. It reminds me what I am calling into my life and where I might be doing the exact opposite!

It’s a simple ritual, an energetic reset/recalibration/refresher which always leaves me feeling more aligned and in tune with myself and able to see where I’m a bit stuck or over doing it.

Perhaps that’s what the full moon offers, not a promise of transformation, but a moment of illumination. A chance to see ourselves a little more clearly before we begin again.

If you’ve never tried a chakra meditation, perhaps this full moon is your invitation. 🌕🤍

When I was pregnant, I thought pregnancy yoga was mostly about stretching.

I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Looking back, these are the five things I wish someone had told me...

🌙 There is no perfect time to start. You don’t have to start early. Whether you’re 14 weeks or 40 weeks, there’s still so much to gain.

🌙 The friendships matter just as much as the yoga. There is something incredibly reassuring about being in a room full of women experiencing the same season of life.

🌙 Your body already knows. You never have to force a movement or do something that doesn’t feel right. Pregnancy yoga is about listening, tuning in, giving up the urge to push through if it doesn’t feel right or you just don’t have the energy.

🌙 Some days, simply taking a breath with your hands on your baby is enough. Connection is the practice.

🌙 Prenatal yoga isn’t about keeping fit, it’s about preparing your body, mind and spirit for the biggest transformation of your life and honouring this extraordinary time.

Pregnancy yoga became so much more than exercise for me. It became a weekly reminder to slow down, trust myself, connect with my baby and be held by a community of women who simply understood.

I’d love to know...

✨ What do you wish someone had told you about pregnancy?

Moontide Mama-to-be Mantra Mondays 🕉️

Take a deep breath, sigh it out and repeat after me…

“My baby will arrive when the time is right”

Due dates are only an estimate but they are often treated as a deadline with the associated pressure. Yet only about 5% of babies are born on their due date, with most babies born between 37-41 weeks of pregnancy. Yes, we can work to averages and large scale data but we are all individual human beings who differ in our cycle length, when we ovulate and, perhaps most importantly, when our baby is ready to be born ⏲️

The Tibetans believe that regardless of the due date, a baby won’t come forward into the world until the star under which it is destined to be born is shining 🌌

So what can you do in this ‘pregnant pause’ at the end of your pregnancy but before labour begins? We can become fixated on what we can do to get labour started, rather than letting labour come to us. We want to have control over it, a schedule, some certainty, but it will happen when the time is right. Put down the ‘to do lists’, give yourself time to let go, create space in your life for them to arrive into and they will arrive when the time is right 💫

A weekly mantra and little reminder of just how amazing you are and the miracle that is your pregnant body. ✨
Words are spells and these mantras are for the moments when you need a little extra mama-to-be magic. Repeat when you wake up and put your feet on the floor, in the shower, when you are stirring your morning tea/coffee or before you go to sleep.

Did you know when you by a class bundle, you can use those classes over 90 days? Summer is a beautiful, busy, full time so that’s why booking is flexible, so you can join when suits you! 💛

Moontide Mama-to-be Mantra Mondays 🕉️

Take a deep breath, sigh it out and repeat after me…

“I calmly make informed decisions and express them with confidence”

It is easy to become overwhelmed with all of the information about birth. There is also a lot of information which we aren’t entirely given. Scans, measurements, tests can all feel like a foreign language and you don’t have the translation. But there is also a wealth of information within and it is important to remember that you are the ultimate authority on your baby. No one knows them better than you 💗

You are also the author of your own birth story. At every stage in your birth you can ask for the information and space that you need to make a decision in your own time which feels right for you and your baby ✍🏻

Here is a simple hypnobirthing framework (BRAIN) to help make informed decisions with calm and confidence:

Benefits - what are the benefits of this decision to me and to baby?
Risks - what are the risks of this decision to me and to baby?
Alternatives - what other options are available in this instance (and the Bs and Rs)
Instinct - what is my gut telling me?
Nothing - what happens if I don’t make a decision straight away/in 10 mins/in an hour/in a day.

It’s not always easy to express what you need, especially if it might inconvenience others. We are often taught to be accommodating, to not make a fuss. This is the time to express with confidence and calm exactly what you need because at the moment you are birthing your baby, you are the centre of the universe, nothing else matters. Take up as much space as you need. Ask for everything you want. Change your mind. Do whatever feels right for you. If this makes you feel uncomfortable just reading it, talk to your birth partner or someone you trust about what you need in order to feel confident expressing yourself 🗯️
