A beautiful Day of colour , for both services , Bramcote Crematorium Graham Ward Funeral Service for a lady who led a colourful life and requested bright colours to be worn .. and Mansfield Crematorium Ivan Bramley for a lady who loved the colour purple, yellow flowers , and a nice “Brew of Ringtons Tea”
You don’t have to wear black to celebrate your loved ones .. honour them with colour , just as they would like ❤️

A beautiful message I received from an amazing service I did last week , An incredibly brave lady who created her final Farewell . I truly felt every word said and it was an honour to be part of the day ♥️

Dear Katie

I just wanted to drop you a short note of thanks for the beautiful service you ran for my sister Katie.

It feels strange to say, but that was one of the best funerals I’ve been to, mind you with my sister in charge with her lists, the chances of it going south were definitely slim.

But organised is only a part of it, being able to deliver the messages, read the details and give context is an art form and you did that with such tenderness and compassion, so a thank you doesn’t feel like it will cut it, but it’s all I can say 👏

Finally, I’m not a betting man, but I’d put money on it being the first with the C word as the parting line 🤪🤣

And lastly off to Wilford Hill Crematorium of course in torrential downpour, for a burial and backfill … for Bike 🏍️ loving Terry, whilst “donning “ an AC/DC t shirt ..

Wow … what an amazing Farewell today for this incredible, strong and beautiful lady . This lady planned , prepared and instructed everyone on her service …. She wrote list after list , chose her coffin , her flowers , horses , clothes , where people sat and who could and couldn’t come ..
she was a true warrior … she loved the “C” word, and she loved her friends and family ..
she didn’t want them to have the pain of arranging things …. So she did it all …
She even , left a note of what her last words to everyone would be for the service ….
What’s more in a strange way she chose me … we both loved Butterfly’s 🦋, both say what we think , and both had the same phrase , … and we are both called “Katie”
So farewell beautiful lady , hope you’ve got your Malibu and Diet Coke and your slice of cake 🍰

she was the life and soul , and loved Bright colours .. we all wore a Pop of colour ..
beautiful memories were Told by friends and family… and the service was closed by “Harry “ a budding actor in the making , at the age of 10 .. he closed the service with a beautiful Poem that was , the lady to a T …

Some Farewells are so much harder than others ..
No parent should have to say good night , to their babies …
At times like this mummy’s and daddy’s need familiar words , gentle stories , and their hands held tightly through this bitterly sad journey ..
This week I have , along with amazing
FDs Ivan Bramley and G Gilbert Funeral Service Chris Flint Anne 'wilcockson' Walker
As Professional , caring and parents ourselves , all 3 of us , unashamedly shed some tears at the services .
Without Doubt “Above and Beyond “ is never too much trouble and I’m truly honoured to of worked alongside them both this week , on such sad days ♥️♥️

Somewhere out there today , someone your age is taking their last breath .. !!
Wishing they had time to do the things they wanted to do but didn’t ..

In that place now , if it was you would you be bothered about , what someone said about you ? Or the fact you can’t shift that last half stone ..
or would you be thinking … I wish I’d moved , I wish I’d gone for that job , I wish I’d told them I love them , … I wish …..

Never Regret … Don’t live to regret …
Life is so hard …. But it’s also so short ..

Buy the shoes
Wear the perfume
Don’t save things for best , this may be your best time ..

(And as my mum always said , always wear matching underwear ) 😄♥️

Today I did a beautiful service at 3pm in Newstead chapel at Mansfield Crematorium .
On this very day (Friday) 6 years ago at 3.15pm I was in the other chapel “Thoresby” at my dad’s funeral …
It’s a strange feeling …. But I know how every family member feels , when they too are sat in those chairs …
It was oddly comforting, being there today at that time … and I left him his favourite colour roses 🌹 … to remember ♥️
