Feeling really proud this morning. 💚

After all the planning and preparation that’s gone into finding Manspace a new home, it was brilliant to finally sit together last night for our Ramsgate relaunch at Newington Community Centre.

There was something really special about seeing the room come together and being reminded of exactly why me and Paul started Manspace in the first place — creating a safe, welcoming space where men can come together, talk, listen and simply be themselves.

A huge thank you to Mike and everyone for supporting Manspace and providing the funding that has helped make this next chapter possible. Your support for what we’re trying to do for men in our community genuinely means a lot to us. 🙏

And also big shout to Cara from who has made all of us feel like we’re right at home here.

I came away feeling incredibly positive about what comes next and grateful to everyone who came along and helped make our first night at the new venue what it was.

Whether you’ve been coming to Manspace for years, haven’t been for a while, or you’ve been thinking about walking through the door for the first time — you’re welcome.

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS AT A Manspace MEETING? 👇

We know that walking into a room full of men you’ve never met can feel daunting.

The mind is pretty good at filling in the blanks. It might conjure up images of a darkened room, a spotlight suddenly turning on you and everyone waiting for you to reveal your deepest thoughts and feelings. 😬

We promise you — it’s nothing like that when you’re sitting with us.

Our meetings are relaxed, welcoming and structured to help people feel comfortable. There’s conversation, connection, shared experience, plenty of humour and, when people want it, space to talk about the things that matter.

You’re always free to speak or to pass. Nobody is put on the spot and nobody is expected to share anything they don’t want to.

One of the things we see time and again is the difference between how men feel before walking through the door and how they feel once they’re actually sitting with us.

That’s no accident. It’s why we structure Manspace the way we do — to create an environment where men can relax, connect and simply be themselves.

In this video, one of our facilitators explains a little more about what actually happens when you come along.

This Thursday 10 September, our Ramsgate Manspace moves to:

🕖 7:00–8:30pm
☕ Guys start arriving from around 6:45pm — getting the room ready, putting the kettle on and having a chat.

So if you’ve been thinking about coming but that little voice in your head keeps finding reasons not to — our relaunch is a great time to give it a try.

You don’t need to prepare anything.
You don’t need to be struggling.
You don’t need to speak.
You just need to turn up.

The hardest part might just be walking through the door.

Once you’re through it, you might be surprised how quickly it feels different. 💙

ONE WEEK TO GO!

We’ve been out and about getting the word out ahead of the relaunch of our Thursday night Manspace Ramsgate meeting!

Manspace (not to be confused with DadSpace, who are doing equally important work) has now been supporting men across Thanet for over three years, with two meetings every week in Margate and Ramsgate.

Over that time, men have found a tribe, connection, shared wisdom and support — and had a lot of laughs along the way.

We welcome all men. Whatever your background, sexuality or religion, you’re welcome to walk through the door.

From Thursday 10th September, our Ramsgate meeting has a new home:

⏰ 7–8:30pm every Thursday

Everything else stays the same. Guys usually start arriving about 15 minutes early, helping get the room ready, putting the kettle on and having a chat. ☕

🙏 A big thank you to top bloke Mike The Fermentorium , whose support and funding has helped make our move and relaunch possible. Community supporting community — exactly what Manspace is all about.

And of course thanks to Radford House who made us so welcome over the last couple of years but are closed for a refurb.

No referrals. No judgement. No pressure. Just men supporting men.

A quick update for our Manspace community 👋

Whilst our usual meeting space at Radford House, Ramsgate is no longer available, we’re keeping the connection going throughout August on our usual meeting night of Thursdays with more informal walk and talk social meets — a chance to get outside, chat, and support each other in a relaxed setting. These will begin from Radford House at 7pm.

We’ll then be moving into our new home at Newington Community Centre, with our first regular meeting taking place on Thursday 10th September.

More details about our exciting relaunch campaign will be coming soon.

We think so too. Allowing ourselves to be vulnerable with other men allows us to role model the greatest courage and strength. To be at our best we need to practise humility and this means being open and vulnerable.

It’s Walky Talky time again and this time we’re meeting at west blean woods. We’ve got some right bird spotters in our clan so they’ll be able to tell us the difference between a twite and a tree sparrow.

Walk and talks are a great opportunity to connect with nature and each other and particularly for those who are wanting to dip their toe in Manspace.

Our first Manspace meeting at St. Paul’s community centre was on 20th March 2023 and we had about 25 blokes show up. We’re now a community of men providing 2 consistent meetings a week where men can show up as themselves, no expectations, and quickly become attuned to healthy masculine norms and attitudes of honesty, accountability and compassionate responsibility for others.

And we certainly need more examples of that in the world right now!
