ce healer, experiences led her to discover and train in many other, and some more esoteric forms of healing including Hypnotherapy, Hypnobirthing, Clinical Aromatherapy, Therapeutic Massage, Advanced Reiki, Gong & Sound Healing and also Shamanism and Cacao Ceremony. The training in shamanic traditions is eclectic, with over 25 years of training and continued mentorship with Indigenous Shamans from Peru, Ecuador, Medicine people from North America, Pagans, Druids, Cacaoistas and Plant Spirit Medicine Healers. Sorrell now weaves together her medical and shamanic traditions together into her private clinical practice, and runs regular online Cacao Ceremonies for all to access these healing gifts. It is her joy to share these powerful healing techniques and also support others in their quest for personal connection to spirit. Sorrell has been a teacher of natural health, from beginner to advanced post graduate. Her clients include Low-impact Living Initiative, The Institute of Traditional Herbal Medicine and Aromatherapy, Learn-Direct , The Shoreditch Spa, and The University of West London. Do you feel guilty for resting in the middle of the day? You're not alone β€” and it turns out that guilt is working against your biology.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the hours between 11am and 1pm are known as the Wu hour, governed by the Heart Meridian. It's the exact moment our Yang energy peaks β€” and, counterintuitively, the ideal moment to rest and nourish our Yin. In my new blog post, I explore ten science-backed and TCM-rooted reasons why a midday nap supports your nervous system, hormonal balance and creativity: https://www.plantspiritmedicinewoman.com/wisdom/middaynap-benefits-tcm-rest

If your mind is too busy to properly let go at home, I hold dedicated Sunday Sanctuary Sound Baths and Cacao & Sound Ceremonies in my Margate studio β€” a safe, supported space to finally drop into rest. Details: https://www.plantspiritmedicinewoman.com/cacaoceremonies

Think about the very first object we place into a newborn's hands. It's almost always a rattle β€” and that's no accident.
In my latest blog post, I dive into the ancient story of this sacred tool: the indigenous lineages that shaped it, the surprising science behind why it soothes babies, and my own 30-year journey learning to craft rattles in the Lakota tradition, passed down to me by my teacher Steven Ash.

I also share a very human, practical story β€” how trying not to disturb the massage therapist working next door to my old clinic led me to discover that the rattle carries exactly the same clearing power as a shamanic drum, just in a gentler, quieter frequency.

Our bodies are not statues to be critiqued β€” they are living, breathing vessels of our life's journey.

After twenty years running a massage practice, I met thousands of people, each carrying their own body hang-ups. And what I learned, again and again, is that the shame we carry about our bodies is rarely our own β€” it's inherited, or borrowed from a culture that profits from our insecurity.

In my new blog post, "Our Bodies, Our Stories," I share what that massage table taught me, plus a step-by-step Toltec ritual for releasing old body judgments and reconnecting with your own Divine Self.

There’s something about standing at the edge of the North Sea here in Margate -
nothing but open water in front of you - that forces you to stop and look inward.

In my new blog post, I write about mid-summer, the Medicine Wheel, and a simple
Toltec-inspired practice called Mirror Work: an open-eyed meditation that helps
quieten the inner critic and rewrite old subconscious programs.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed by too many voices in your head lately - selfjudgment, comparison, that nagging sense you’re not enough - this practice is a gentle place to start.

β˜€οΈ A warming spice in the middle of summer β€” it sounds counterintuitive, doesn't it?

But as a Medical Herbalist, one of my favourite things to share is this: cinnamon is actually one of nature's most effective cooling tools.

Here's why. When you sip a gentle warming spice, it stimulates your internal circulation and triggers your body's natural temperature-regulating mechanisms. It opens the periphery, encourages cooling evaporation on the skin, and helps disperse trapped internal heat. In hot climates across India, Central America, and beyond, this knowledge has been held for centuries.

More than physically cooling, cinnamon brings an emotional and spiritual anchor when summer energy feels scattered or overwhelming. Traditionally, it's associated with the solar fire element β€” building what I call soft strength. Protective, grounding, clarifying.

I've written a full blog post on this, including the Sovereign Summer Blend recipe (cinnamon simmered in the water before adding your cacao β€” simple, beautiful, and genuinely cooling), plus the remarkable history of cinnamon as a plant ally.

You can read the full post and get the recipe here:

πŸŒ• The Capricorn Full Moon is almost here β€” and she's asking a big question.
What are you building? And are your heart and your ambition actually working together?
On Sunday 28th June, 3–5:30pm, we're gathering in Margate for a Capricorn Full Moon Cacao & Cinnamon, Gong Healing Ceremony β€” a space to root down, recalibrate, and step into the week ahead with real clarity.
We'll be working with a warming blend of ceremonial cacao and cinnamon β€” a fire-spice known for strengthening personal power, attracting prosperity, and building energetic protection. Together they create something rare: soft strength. Grounded ambition. Heart-led authority.
The ceremony includes:

πŸ”₯ Cacao + cinnamon prosperity blend

πŸ” Guided reflection and commitment ritual

πŸ”Š A full 1-hour gong and sound healing journey

πŸŒ™ Cosy sacred space β€” mats, blankets and cushions provided
All are welcome, whether this is your first ceremony or your fiftieth.
