A powerful reminder that skin cancer doesn’t always look how we expect it to.

This client recently submitted a lesion through our Map My Mole service. It was identified as needing further investigation and was subsequently diagnosed as a basal cell carcinoma.

Thankfully, it was checked—but it highlights why protecting and monitoring your skin is so important.

As we head into the colder months, it can be tempting to put the sunscreen away. However, UV rays are still present on cool, cloudy days and the damage to our skin builds over time.

Make a broad-spectrum SPF 30–50 part of your daily routine all year round, particularly on exposed areas such as your face, ears, neck and hands.

And please don’t ignore a new, changing or non-healing mark on your skin. If something doesn’t look or feel right, have it checked.
