Hello, I'm training to be a Forest bathing Guide....
As part of my training I am required to hold 3 x 3 hour sessions of Forest Bathing with a minimum of 4 people in each group.
The sessions will take place in a beautiful retreat woodland near Salisbury.
Whilst I am not being paid for the sessions I need to cover the cost of hiring the woodland, so a donation of between £12 and £20 pounds (depending on group numbers) will be asked for in advance.
The dates for the sessions are:-
Monday 14th October 10.00 -13.00
Tuesday 5th November 10.00 – 13.00
Monday 11th November 10.00 – 13.00
You will need to bring a mat or groundsheet to sit/lie on, lots of layers of warm clothing as we will be still for the majority of the session, walking boots or wellies, plus an open and curious heart.
Please get in touch if you are interested and/or have any questions.
I look forward to hearing from you.
A brief intro…
Forest bathing was first conceived of in Japan as a wellbeing therapy for mental and emotional health in the 1980’s.
As a wellbeing aid it is now practised in many countries around the world, including the UK where it is part of Green Prescriptions.
During a typical session participants are invited to slow down and attune to the nature around them via a selection of guided mindful interactions with their environment.
Because our busy minds need a good two hours to unwind and become at one with our surroundings the sessions are three hours long.
Health benefits include:-
Increased mental and emotional wellbeing and resilience.
Reduced stress and anxiety.
Lowering of BP.
Increase in “Happy Hormones” such as Serotonin.
Boosting of the immune system.
Enhanced feelings of peace, clarity, at one-ness, unity, harmony, sense of self.
Better sleep.
