Welcome September♍️

September represents transition, balance, and reaping the rewards of your hard work. It is a bridge between the active energy of summer and the quiet reflection of winter.

As the energy of the Sturgeon Moon 🌝 begins to settle, you may find yourself reflecting on the past few days.

Perhaps emotions surfaced unexpectedly. Maybe your mind felt busy, your sleep was restless, or you've simply been taking stock of where you are in life.

Whether you believe the moon influences us or simply enjoy using it as a moment for reflection, it can be a gentle reminder to pause, breathe, and reconnect with ourselves.

🌿 Qigong offers that space.

Through slow, flowing movements, mindful breathing, and gentle awareness, Qigong can help:
🦢 Calm a busy mind
🦢 Release physical tension
🦢 Restore balance and energy
🦢 Help you feel more grounded and centred

The moon has passed, but the opportunity to reset is always here.

Why not join us for a peaceful practice in nature and allow yourself a little time to let go of what no longer serves you and step into the days ahead with greater ease.

An Ancient Solution.

In our modern society, with two extremes:-

Either caught between ever busy distraction and avoidance - conditioned unconscious habitual doing, racing around “mindlessness” and numbed, from sense pleasure to indulgence;

Or, the opposite of constant over thinking, too much analysis, worry and incessant discursive inner narrative and judgement the -“over mindful hyper-vigilant ‘therapy’ mind” leading to anxiety, stress and depression;

Activities such as Qigong are the quiet ancient antidote and panacea for the whole spectrum.

To practise slowly and simply, allowing a wave of unforced mindfulness to wash over the body, naturally calming the mind, emotions and thinking, clearing out our busyness and concerns, returns one to the natural state of peace, less contaminated by the toxins of our modern society.

All so very quickly, easily and gently. Wei Wu Wei - doing non doing, action non action.

Our surroundings become more noticed, every leaf, cloud, and birdsong, as a calm natural awareness becomes the norm and we live in the parasympathetic nervous system, out of the fight flight or freeze reaction of the sympathetic.

Living lightly and more joyfully, less heavy or seriousness as we come to experience the play of life.

“Think less, want less, say less, and do less. Leave things alone.” Such is the wisdom of ancient Daoism, as most famously represented by the Laozi and Zhuangzi. Through a non-meddling "less is more" approach, things can unfold naturally in the best way. Such an approach has been applied to Daoist meditation successfully for millennia.

Often when we engage in such practises and ‘take our hands off the wheel” of constant controlling, planning, distraction and micro management, we return to the natural flow and life simply unfolds naturally and in the best ways, exactly as it should.

“Don’t push the river!”

See you at a session soon! ☯️🦢🤜🫷🙏🏻

We had our free Five Element Flow 1 day workshop Sunday in the park (10am-5pm) with our Qigong Teacher and founder Mark and had 47 of our community attending, (45 for the whole day), diving deeper into Qigong.

The weather was perfect and everyone said how they enjoyed the day very much and got so much from it, whilst it being fun, relaxed and light hearted.

It was a perfect opportunity to discuss the more formal aspects of the tradition and ask Mark lots of questions.

We looked at the foundations of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory underpinning much of Qigong briefly, and most importantly the Mechanics and Philosophy behind our practise, (largely Taoist, Buddhist and Quantum theory).

We chatted about the benefits, psychologically, physiologically, and also on the deeper energetic level.

We too explored the three styles of Qigong: Martial, Medical and Spiritual.

The first we don’t practise here, the second only really minimally of interest, really just supporting our health sufficiently to be ABLE to practise, but predominantly the deeper Philosophical aspects, associated with WHY the practise is of such hidden value; exactly what the world needs right now!

Upcoming:-

This Wednesday we have our amazing Guest Teacher Simon Jennings of Azure Tai Chi, taking our 10-11am park session, plus he is holding free Tai Chi classes all week in the park, by the river 9-10am too. Highly recommended.

A great opportunity to practice with an amazing Teacher with incredible experience and knowledge, and such a warm lovely and humorous chap!
