At Solway House, our absolute priority is ensuring our wonderful residents live life to the fullest with plenty of smiles, laughter, and wonderful memories. We are currently raising funds for our Resident Activity and Event Fund, which directly supports upcoming treats that make every day special, including exciting scenic days out, wonderful parties with live entertainment, and special meals out at local restaurants. Every contribution—big or small—makes a profound difference in enriching the daily lives of our residents, and we are also warmly welcoming donations of gifts for our upcoming raffle prizes. If you would like to support us, donate a prize, or find out more, please feel free to send us a DM, give us a call, or drop into the home, and we want to thank you so much for your continued love, support, and generosity from all of us here at Solway House! ❤️

🍂🍁 Autumn is officially calling at Solway House! 🍁🍂

​We have an absolute blast of a season lined up, and we'd love for families to be right there in the thick of it with us! Alongside all our cozy, day-to-day comforts inside the home— music and dance, armchair exercises, and crafts—we’ve got some brilliant events on the calendar.
​Get ready for some hearty laughs at our Pie, Peas & Bingo, a spooktacular Halloween Party, and a glowing Bonfire Night celebration and a lovely trip to Bassenthwaite lake Station.

Sepsis Awareness: Spot the Signs, Save a Life 💜
​At Solway House Residential Home, the health, safety, and well-being of our residents and community always come first. That's why we are raising awareness about sepsis—a medical emergency that can be hard to spot, but quick action can save lives.
​Sepsis happens when the body's immune system overreacts to an infection and starts damaging its own tissues and organs.
​Remember the Sepsis SIGNS:
​S - Slurred speech or confusion
​E - Extreme shivering or muscle pain
​P - Passing no urine (in a day)
​S - Severe breathlessness
​I - It feels like you're going to die
​S - Skin mottled or discolored
​If you or someone you care for develops a combination of these symptoms—especially following an infection, cut, or surgery—act fast and call 999 or go straight to A&E. Always ask: "Could this be sepsis?"

We’ve had the most gorgeous little visitor at Solway House today as Brenda was over the moon to welcome her great-granddaughter, Remi, for a very special visit! Remi brought so many smiles to everyone's faces as she explored the home, even enjoying a tasty biscuit while brightening up the lounge for residents and staff alike. Visits like this always bring so much joy to our home, and we want to say a huge thank you for stopping by to see us, Remi! 👶🍪❤️🏡

A few wonderful snaps from the last few weeks of our lovely residents smiling, laughing, and showing off their incredible creativity while making beautiful handmade jewellery! 📿✨ We love keeping busy, and we have a fun-packed week planned ahead.On Monday, we are hosting our popular pie and pea bingo—everyone is warmly welcome to join us for a fantastic evening of food and bingo 🥧🎲 Plus, we are all getting very excited for a lovely upcoming trip to Keswick. 🚌⛰️ Be sure to keep an eye out for updates and photos from our adventures!
