Sometimes, adding more filler isn’t the answer. Sometimes the best thing we can do is start again. 🤍

This lovely client came to me with previous lip filler that had started to sit unevenly and had lost some of the natural definition of the lip.

Rather than trying to correct this by simply adding more product, we made the decision to dissolve the existing filler first, allow the lips to settle, and then carefully rebuild them.

The result? ✨
A softer, cleaner lip shape with improved definition, better balance and a much more natural appearance.

This is exactly what I mean when I talk about my approach to lip filler:

Anatomy first.
Balance over volume.
Structure before more product.
And knowing when NOT to inject.

Dissolving isn’t a failure and it doesn’t mean you can never have filler again. In the right patient, it can give us the clean foundation we need to create a much prettier and more considered result.

These lips were then refilled conservatively — not to make them dramatically bigger, but to restore shape, support and softness while still looking completely like her.

Soft. Balanced. Anatomically considered. Still completely you. 🤍

— Nurse Rachel Aesthetics

Individual results vary. Assessment and consultation are required before treatment.

🍂 BIOREPEEL vs THE PERFECT PEEL

Two peels. Two very different treatments. Which one would I recommend for you?

Patients often ask me which chemical peel is the “best” — but actually, it depends on your skin, your concerns and how much downtime you’re prepared to have.

✨ BIOREPEEL — the low-downtime refresh

BioRePeel is my choice when you want to improve the appearance of:

• Dull or tired-looking skin
• Uneven texture
• Fine lines
• Congestion and blemish-prone skin
• General skin quality

The big appeal? Minimal downtime.

You may experience some dryness or light flaking afterwards, but it isn’t designed around having a dramatic visible peel.

It’s brilliant if you want something you can incorporate into your routine without disappearing for a week — and it can be performed as a course of treatments for progressive improvement.

Think: fresh, smooth, glowing skin without the big peel.

🍌 THE PERFECT PEEL — when you want something stronger

The Perfect Peel is a different experience.

It’s a medium-depth chemical peel containing a blend of acids and other ingredients and is designed for more intensive skin resurfacing.

I may consider this when concerns include:

• Pigmentation and uneven skin tone
• Sun damage
• Acne and post-acne marks
• Fine lines and signs of ageing
• More significant texture concerns

But with greater intensity comes more downtime.

You should expect visible peeling — typically beginning a few days after treatment — so this is one you actually need to plan into your diary!

Think: a more intensive skin reset with proper peeling and downtime.

🤍 SO WHICH WOULD I CHOOSE?

Want a regular skin refresh with minimal disruption?
→ BioRePeel.

Want a more intensive resurfacing treatment and happy to peel?
→ The Perfect Peel.

Neither is automatically “better”.

The best peel is the one that suits your skin, your goals and your lifestyle.

And September is the PERFECT time to start thinking about undoing some of what summer has thrown at our skin. 🍂✨

02/09/2026

I’ve decided my own skin needs a little reset too ✨

Nothing dramatic, no chasing perfection — just focusing on skin health, texture, glow and giving my skin a bit of attention after a busy few months.

So I’m doing exactly what I recommend in clinic: a course combining BioRePeel + microneedling, then repeating it again in around 4 weeks.

I’ll share how my skin gets on along the way — completely unfiltered, because I think it’s nice to actually see the process rather than just the polished before & after 🤍

✨ WHAT WOULD NURSE RACHEL RECOMMEND?

“I don’t know what treatment I need… I just feel like I look older.”

If you said this to me in clinic, I wouldn’t expect you to know what treatment you need.

That’s my job.

You don’t need to arrive saying:

“I need 2ml of cheek filler, Profhilo and Botox.”

You just need to tell me what you’re noticing and what you’d like to improve.

Then I look at the why. 👇

🔎 Has your face lost volume or support?

Age-related volume changes can make the cheeks look flatter, create hollowing and contribute to changes through the lower face.

💉 Are your muscles creating lines or downward pull?

Some of the changes we associate with ageing are caused by repeated facial movement or the action of muscles pulling particular areas downwards.

💧 Has your skin changed?

Fine lines, crepey texture, dullness, dehydration and reduced elasticity can make a huge difference to how fresh the face looks — even when you don’t need any additional volume.

✨ Is there skin laxity?

Sometimes the main change is simply that the skin isn’t as firm as it once was.

And this is important because not everything can — or should — be treated with injectables.

🤍 Usually, it’s a combination of little things.

Ageing doesn’t happen in one isolated area.

Our skin, fat, bone, muscles and facial proportions all change over time.

That’s why I assess the whole face, even if there’s one particular area bothering you.

And sometimes my recommendation might be filler.

Sometimes wrinkle-relaxing treatment.

Sometimes Profhilo, Structura, polynucleotides, a peel or another skin treatment.

Sometimes a combination.

And sometimes I’ll tell you you don’t need anything at all.

A consultation shouldn’t start with:

“What treatment would you like?”

It should start with:

“What is bothering you?”

Then we work out whether there’s something I can safely and realistically do to help.

Because you don’t need to become an aesthetics expert before you walk through my door.

That’s what I’m here for. 🤍

❤️Reviews like this mean so much to me.

Aesthetic treatment should never feel like a “one size fits all” approach. Every face, every age and every set of goals is different — and that’s exactly why I take time to assess, plan and review each treatment individually.

My aim is always the same: thoughtful, medically-led aesthetics that help you look and feel like yourself.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a kind review #⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

✨ WHAT WOULD NURSE RACHEL RECOMMEND?

“I don’t want filler… I just want to look fresher.”

If you said this to me in clinic, my answer would be:

Absolutely. You don’t need filler to have aesthetic treatment.

Sometimes you don’t want to change your facial shape or add volume.

You just want your skin to look brighter, smoother and healthier, your lines a little softer and generally to look a bit more refreshed.

So what might we consider? 👇

💉 Wrinkle-relaxing treatment

If lines caused by facial movement are making you feel you look tired or tense, carefully placed wrinkle-relaxing injections can soften them while maintaining natural expression.

💧 Profhilo

If you’re noticing fine lines, crepey texture, reduced elasticity or dehydrated-looking skin, Profhilo can improve hydration, firmness and overall skin quality without creating facial volume.

✨ Polynucleotides

Particularly lovely for delicate areas such as the under-eyes, polynucleotides can be used when the aim is improving skin quality and condition rather than filling a hollow.

🧖‍♀️ BioRePeel

If dullness, uneven texture or general skin quality is bothering you, a peel can be a brilliant way of giving the complexion a refresh without injectables at all.

🤍 And sometimes the answer is simply good skincare.

Not every concern needs a needle.

A good consultation isn’t about finding something to inject.

It’s about looking at what actually bothers you, understanding what is causing it and deciding whether there’s a treatment that genuinely makes sense.

So if you want to look fresher but don’t want filler?

That’s completely fine.

There are plenty of ways we can work on skin quality, texture, hydration and lines without changing the shape of your face.

The goal is still you.

Just looking like you’ve had a really good few weeks. ✨

Back where I belong 💙

After the summer break, I’m genuinely so happy to be back in my NHS role.

I love my aesthetics work, but my NHS career is such a huge part of who I am as a nurse. I love the clinical thinking, the complexity, the teamwork, the conversations, the problem solving — and ultimately feeling like I’m making a difference to people and their families.

I’ve also realised how much I thrive on routine. After weeks of stopping, starting and juggling everything around the school holidays, it feels SO good to put my lanyard back on and get my work brain properly switched on again 😂

Very grateful that I get to have both sides of my career — my NHS work and Nurse Rachel Aesthetics — because they give me completely different things and I genuinely love them both.

Anyway… Nurse Rachel is officially back in the building 💙😂

✨ WHAT WOULD NURSE RACHEL RECOMMEND?

“My cheeks have gone flat.”

If you said this to me in clinic, I’d be looking at what you’ve actually lost — volume, support, or a combination of the two.

Because as we age, the cheeks naturally change.

We lose volume, the facial fat compartments change and the mid-face can begin to look flatter, more sunken or less supported than it once did.

And sometimes that change through the cheeks can contribute to changes elsewhere in the face too.

So what would I recommend? 👇

💉 Cheek filler — when we need structure and volume

Dermal filler can be placed strategically within the cheek to replace lost volume, restore contour and provide structural support.

And no — that doesn’t have to mean enormous cheekbones! 😂

In mature faces particularly, I’m often replacing something that used to be there, rather than trying to create a completely new facial shape.

✨ Profhilo Structura — when the face looks deflated

For someone experiencing age-related changes within the superficial facial fat compartments, Profhilo Structura may be another option.

Rather than creating the projection or contour we can achieve with traditional filler, Structura is designed specifically to work within these superficial fat compartments.

🤍 So which would I choose?

That depends entirely on your face.

If you need specific volume, projection or structural support, I may recommend carefully placed cheek filler.

If I’m seeing more generalised age-related changes and a deflated or sunken appearance, Structura may be more appropriate.

And for some people, we may use a combination.

The important thing is that we’re not trying to give everybody the same pair of cheeks.

We’re working out what your face has lost and how we can subtly restore it.

Because good cheek treatment shouldn’t make people think:

“She’s had cheek filler.”

It should make them think:

“She looks really well.” 🤍
