Urgent treatment centres update:

You now need an appointment to be seen in the evening at the local Urgent Treatment Centres (UTCs),the UTCs remain open seven days a week, between 8am and 8pm.

📞 Always call first. The team can assess your symptoms and direct you to the most appropriate service, including arranging an appointment at a UTC if needed.

During walk-in hours, you can attend without an appointment:
🔹 Ilkeston, Ripley and Whitworth: 8am–5pm
🔹 Buxton: 8am–4pm

The practice will be closed Monday 31st August 2026 .

We will re open from 7:30 for online consultations on Tuesday 1st September. The practices will be open from 8:00 at Darley Dale and 8:30 at Winster and Youlgreave.

Our top tips for a healthy and happy Bank Holiday:
* Please order any repeat prescriptions you require in time to ensure you have adequate provision over the bank holiday.

* Use NHS 111 if you need medical help but it’s not an emergency. NHS 111 offers an online service at https://111.nhs.uk/ or you can call them by dialing 111

☀️Staying safe in the sun☀️

Whilst exposure to the hot weather can affect anyone, some people are particularly vulnerable. It’s important to take some essential steps to avoid becoming unwell through conditions such as heat exhaustion and heatstroke.

✨Wear the right clothing, staying in the shade and using suncream.
✨Use a sunscreen with a 5* UVA and at least an SPF 30. Re-apply every two hours, or more often if you have been swimming or exercising. For more information visit Sunscreen and sun safety – NHs.
✨Drink plenty of water. Cover up with a hat and long sleeves. ✨Wear a wide-brimmed hat to protect your face and neck.
✨Wear UV blocking sunglasses to protect your eyes.

Sun damage to the skin is most likely between 11am and 3pm between March and October. But sunlight can be strong enough to cause sunburn at other times of the day and year, and sometimes even on cloudy days.

Swiftqueue update

Starting July 1st, 2026, all patients can use their NHS login to access and book appointments on Swiftqueue.

The old Swiftqueue login option will be removed, making NHS login the only way to sign in or register.

Already, over 1.6 million patients have used NHS login with Swiftqueue, making booking easier and more secure!

If you don’t have an NHS login, you’ll be able to register quickly and book your appointment online—no photo ID needed.

Derbyshire Dales Primary Care Network (DDPCN) is reaching out to patients aged 30 to 65 with a short questionnaire about family history and cancer risk. If you receive one please take a few minutes to complete it.

Cancer that runs in families can sometimes be linked to inherited genes. By understanding your family history, we can identify whether you might benefit from additional health checks or genetic testing.

The questionnaire takes just a few minutes to complete online using your mobile phone. Receiving it does not mean there is any concern about your health, its simply a routine proactive check being offered to patients across the Derbyshire Dales.

A few answers today could make a big difference tomorrow. 💚
