A message from The Jepson Family

Like many people across the country, we have followed the recent news with a deep sense of sadness and disbelief. Our thoughts are with every family affected by these distressing events.

As an independent family funeral business serving communities across Derbyshire and Staffordshire, we understand that the trust placed in a funeral director is unlike any other. Families come to us during some of the most difficult moments of their lives, placing the care of someone they love into our hands. We never forget the responsibility that carries.

For generations, the Jepson family has built its reputation on the values of dignity, compassion, integrity and respect. Today, those same principles guide every member of our team across our ten independent funeral homes. Every person entrusted to our care is treated as we would wish our own loved ones to be treated—with kindness, professionalism and the utmost respect.

We have always believed that transparency and accountability are essential. Families are welcome to speak with our team, visit our funeral homes and ask any questions they may have about the care we provide. We believe openness is fundamental to maintaining the confidence that families place in us.

As proud members of SAIF Independent Funeral Directors, we support high professional standards across our sector and continue to welcome appropriate regulation that strengthens public confidence and ensures consistent standards of care throughout the profession.

Tom Jepson, Managing Director of Jepson Funeral Homes

"Trust is something that can never be taken for granted. Every family who comes to us deserves complete confidence that their loved one will be cared for with dignity, compassion and respect from the moment they enter our care. That is a responsibility we take incredibly seriously, and it is one that every member of our team carries with pride every single day.”

To every family we have had the privilege of serving, to those we are supporting today, and to those who may need us in the future, thank you for the trust you place in us.

If you have any questions about the care we provide or would simply like to speak to a member of our team, our doors are always open. We are here to listen, to support and to help in whatever way we can.

The Jepson Family, August 2026.

Flashback Friday…

Long before Tom officially joined the family business,he was already fascinated by the newest arrival to the fleet. Here he is as a toddler in 1987, proudly helping to “clean” one of our hearses after it had just been delivered home.

While the vehicles may look very different today, one thing hasn’t changed – the pride we take in caring for families. It’s something that’s been passed from one generation to the next, and it’s a privilege to continue that tradition every day.

We regularly invest in our fleet to ensure we’re offering families the very best in comfort, presentation and professionalism, while never losing sight of the values that have been at the heart of our business for generations.

Some things change. Some things never should. ❤️
