🚨 Our Emergency Departments (A&E) at University Hospital Ayr and University Hospital Crosshouse are extremely busy today. People who attend ED with non-urgent needs will face a long wait.

Some GP Practices will be closed from 1pm to 5.30pm on the 17th, 23rd and 25th of June to carry out staff training. During these times the Ayrshire Urgent Care Service will provide urgent care and support to patients of practices which are closed.

Patients or Community Pharmacies who require to contact a participating GP Practice urgently during the time they are closed for Protected Learning Time should call the Ayrshire Urgent Care Service on 01563 826930.

On Monday 15 June 2026, GP practices will be closed for the bank holiday.

Some community pharmacies will remain open and can provide advice on choosing and using medicines, as well as support for treating common, everyday ailments. NHS 24 also has pharmacists available to answer medicine‑ and pharmacy‑related questions by calling 111.

We are looking for a GP Administrator to join our friendly team at Carrick Medical Practice. We are looking for someone to work 16 hours a week.

This is a varied, rewarding and challenging role requiring excellent communication skills. The role will include dealing with patients over the telephone and face to face, processing prescriptions, booking and cancelling appointments and all other administration duties as required.
