We have had a very busy and furry day at Mavern House today! 🐶🐾

This morning, we were delighted to welcome John and his wonderful therapy dog, Fudge, for a visit. Fudge spent time with our residents, enjoying plenty of strokes, cuddles, and fuss from everyone at Mavern House. He is such a lovely dog who always brings smiles, comfort, and happiness wherever he goes.

This afternoon, we had the pleasure of welcoming Creature Cuddles Animal Handling for a very special animal meet-and-greet session. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed handling and cuddling a variety of animals, including Tia the fluffy dog, adorable baby chicks, Spike the bearded dragon, Shelly the tortoise, and many more beautiful creatures.

Not only did everyone have the opportunity to interact with these amazing animals, but we also learned lots of interesting facts about each species, making it both a fun and educational experience.

It was a fantastic day filled with smiles, laughter, cuddles, and new experiences. A huge thank you to John, Fudge, and Creature Cuddles Animal Handling for making today so special for everyone at Mavern House! ❤️🐾

This afternoon we enjoyed the beautiful sunshine and joined in with our fun and regular sing-song at Mavern Melodies in the garden. The lovely singing seemed to bring the sunshine out even more, with plenty of toe tapping and chair dancing throughout the afternoon! ☀️🎶💃
To finish off a wonderful afternoon, we relaxed in the sunshine with a refreshing cold juice and a choc ice, accompanied by lots of great chat and laughter.

A fabulous afternoon was had by all!

This afternoon we enjoyed some fun exercises to music with Claire, getting everyone moving and smiling along to the tunes. 🎶💃🕺
Arthur also spent some time looking through the wonderful collection of old tools that have kindly been donated. He thoroughly enjoyed sharing his knowledge with Nicky, explaining what each tool was called and what it would have been used for. It was lovely to hear the memories and stories that these tools brought back.

What a fantastic day at our nursing home! 🎈

Our residents had great fun taking part in a parachute ball game, with lots of laughter, smiles, and teamwork all around. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves and sharing so many happy moments together.

After all that energetic parachuting, we relaxed with a delicious slice of cake 🍰 and a lovely cuppa ☕. The perfect way to finish a fun-filled activity.

At Mavern House, we had a fun-filled afternoon playing the classic TV game show Family Fortunes! 🎉

Residents, relatives, and staff were split into four teams, creating some fantastic friendly competition and plenty of laughter along the way. It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved, joining in, and having such a great time together.

A huge congratulations to Gemma, Val, and Jane, who came out on top with an incredible 216 points, claiming first prize! 🏆👏

Well done to everyone who took part and helped make it such an enjoyable afternoon. We can't wait for the next challenge!

This afternoon we took part in a D-Day quiz, testing our knowledge and remembering the events of 6th June 1944. We spent time looking through photographs and newspaper articles from the era, which sparked lots of memories and conversations.
Everyone enjoyed sharing stories and reflections, helping to keep these important memories alive. We ended the day with a wonderful wartime sing-along, filling the room with familiar songs, smiles, and a real sense of remembrance.

This afternoon we were delighted to welcome back the lovely Nicki, who entertained us with a wonderful selection of D-Day songs. The music brought back so many amazing memories, with lots of singing along and reminiscing amongst our residents.
We also took time to reflect and remember with a minute's silence and a prayer, kindly requested by Albert, in honour of the three Royal Navy personnel who tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash this week.
A heartfelt afternoon of remembrance, music, reflection, and shared memories. ❤️ 🇬🇧
