🌸💐 This Week’s Jars of Joy! 💐🌸

Sometimes it really is the simplest things that bring the biggest smiles. ❤️

This week at Blenheim House, our Jars of Joy have been filled with beautiful fresh flowers, lovingly picked and given to residents who perhaps needed that little extra reason to smile.

Seeing their faces light up as they received their own little jar of blooms has made this past week incredibly special. 🌷🌼

A small gesture, a splash of colour and the wonderful scent of fresh flowers can make such a difference to someone’s day. It’s a lovely reminder that kindness doesn’t have to be grand ….. sometimes it can simply come in a little jar filled with flowers and a whole lot of thought. 💕

Today at Blenheim House Care Home, we’ve been taking things a little slower as the warm weather continues. 💜☀️

To help keep everyone comfortable, we’ve adapted our activities to focus on calm, relaxing experiences that our residents can enjoy in the cooler parts of the day.

One of today’s favourite activities was harvesting the beautiful lavender from our gardens. Together, we carefully picked the fragrant stems and created our own lavender bags for residents to keep by their beds or on their pillows.

Lavender has long been associated with relaxation and restful sleep, making these handmade keepsakes a wonderful way to bring a little peace and comfort into the evening.

Sometimes it’s the simplest moments, enjoying nature, sharing conversation, and breathing in the beautiful scent of fresh lavender, that create the most meaningful memories.

🎬✨ A Huge Thank You! ✨🎬

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us at Blenheim House Care Home on Saturday evening for our Movie Night. It was wonderful to see many of you come together for a fantastic evening.

We thoroughly enjoyed watching Mamma Mia!, with plenty of singing along, laughter, and smiles throughout the film. It was a lovely opportunity to relax, spend time together, and create more wonderful memories.

Thank you for making the evening so special. We hope you had as much fun as we did! We can’t wait to welcome you back to our next event.

🌾❤️ Supporting Our Community, One Scarecrow at a Time! ❤️🌾

This weekend, Blenheim House Care Home was delighted to sponsor a scarecrow in the wonderful Lacock Scarecrow Trail.

The trail is a fantastic community event that brings together local residents, businesses, volunteers and families, all while raising valuable funds for Lacock Primary School. It’s events like these that remind us just how important it is to support one another and celebrate the communities we’re proud to be part of.

At Blenheim House, we believe that being a care home means so much more than caring for our residents within our walls. We are passionate about giving back, supporting local initiatives and building meaningful connections with the wider community. Whether it’s sponsoring events, welcoming local groups into our home or taking part in community projects, we’re always looking for ways to make a positive difference.

A huge well done to everyone involved in creating such an imaginative and enjoyable event. We hope all the visitors had a fantastic time exploring the trail and discovering the incredible scarecrows!

Today at Blenheim House Care Home we were delighted to welcome Tropical Discoveries for a fascinating hands-on animal experience. Our residents had the opportunity to meet and learn about a variety of creatures, including bugs, amphibians, snakes and tortoises, with many enjoying the chance to gently touch and hold them.

While these animals may not be everyone’s idea of a traditional pet, they each play a vital role in our environment and ecosystems. Experiences like this encourage learning, spark wonderful conversations and create lasting memories, proving that it is never too late to discover something new. Thank you to Tropical Discoveries for such an engaging and educational visit!
