Healing your relationship isn’t about finding a sticking plaster or a quick fix, it’s about creating lasting change, one step at a time. 🤍

One of the biggest myths about couples therapy is that one or two sessions will solve years of hurt, misunderstandings, or disconnection.

The reality?

Over the course of a block, progress often looks like:

Having one less argument that spirals.

Pausing before reacting.

Feeling heard for the first time.

Learning to repair after conflict.

Choosing each other, even when it’s difficult.

Some weeks you’ll feel like you’re making huge strides. Other weeks it might feel like you’re standing still. Both are a normal part of the process.

Relationships are built over time, and healing takes time too.

Therapy isn’t about becoming the “perfect” couple, it’s about building a relationship that’s stronger, safer, and more connected than it was before.

Be patient with the process. Every small step counts. 💛

Your brain is always filtering information.
Every day, it’s deciding what deserves your attention and what gets ignored.

The interesting part?

That filter is influenced by what you repeatedly think about, believe, and expect.

If you’re always searching for what’s wrong, you’ll rarely notice what’s going right.

But when you intentionally start looking for growth, opportunities, lessons, and progress, your perspective begins to shift.

Not because life suddenly becomes perfect-but because you’re no longer overlooking the good that’s already there.

This isn’t about toxic positivity or pretending challenges don’t exist.

It’s about training your mind to notice possibilities alongside the problems.

Today, ask yourself:

* What progress have I been ignoring?
* What strengths have I overlooked?
* What opportunities are already in front of me?

Small shifts in focus can create big shifts in how you experience life.

What’s one positive thing you’re choosing to focus on this week?

Every relationship faces challenges, but you don’t have to navigate them alone.

Whether you’re feeling disconnected, caught in the same arguments, rebuilding trust, or simply want to strengthen your relationship, couples therapy offers a supportive, non-judgemental space to understand each other better and create lasting positive change.

I offer couples therapy online and face-to-face in the Scottish Borders, providing a safe space where both partners can feel heard and supported.

If you’re ready to invest in your relationship, I’d love to help.

A new chapter… 🤍

For the past 3.5 years, I’ve been retraining and deepening my practice, and I’m so excited to finally share where that journey has led.

While many of you know me as a clinical hypnotherapist, my work has evolved. Going forward, my primary focus will be psychotherapy, with a particular passion for working with couples, alongside individual therapy. Hypnotherapy will still be available where it’s helpful, but it will no longer be the main focus of my practice.

Relationships can be one of the greatest sources of love, connection and joy—but they can also be where we experience our deepest hurts. Whether you’re feeling disconnected, stuck in the same arguments, struggling to rebuild trust, or simply wanting to strengthen your relationship, therapy offers a space to slow down, understand each other differently, and move forward together.

Alongside couples, I continue to work with individuals who want to better understand themselves, work through challenges, and create lasting change.

What hasn’t changed is how I work. I believe in offering a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you feel safe to be yourselves. Therapy isn’t about taking sides or placing blame—it’s about helping people feel heard, understood, and finding a way forward.

If you or someone you know is looking for support as a couple, I’d love to hear from you.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey so far. I’m incredibly excited for this next chapter. 🤍

Anxiety often isn’t fear of what is, it’s fear of what might be.
An intolerance of uncertainty keeps the mind searching for guarantees that life can’t give. Healing begins when we learn we can handle uncertainty without needing to control every outcome.
