I don’t quite have the words for yesterdays Swim & Sound . ✨
“The perfect evening.”
That was said more than once as we came out of the water and settled into sound.
The lake was completely still.
So still that we could listen deeply.
And we did.
We heard the birds.
We heard the water.
And then… the fish.
More active than I have ever seen them.
As I played, I swear there was a moment when I wasn’t simply playing sound floating above the lake — I was in a whole sonic conversation with the life within it.
And then…
The geese returned. 🪿🩶
They swooped over the water, beating their wings and singing.
They flew straight over the decking where we were lying…
…and then circled around and did it again.
It was extraordinary.
There was something almost impossible to describe about being immersed in sound, surrounded by water and wildlife, as the sun began to set — and feeling that we weren’t simply observing nature.
We were part of it.
Perhaps this is what happens when we become quiet enough to listen.
The lake speaks.
The birds answer.
The geese join in.
And for a little while, everything is frequency.
Thank you to everyone who shared this extraordinary evening with me. 💛
I think we may have been a part of something very special.
