A Day for Us: Inside Our Case-UK Wellbeing Day
Yesterday, the whole Case-UK team came together at St David's Hotel in Cardiff Bay for something a little different, a full day dedicated to us. Our wellbeing, our connection, and ten years of everything we've built together.
We spend our days creating safe spaces for other people. Yesterday was about creating one for ourselves.
The morning began with welcome and recognition, before we moved into a day full of things to nourish the mind and body. We rolled out the mats for yoga with the wonderful Kate Holly who guided us to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with ourselves , a beautiful, calming way to set the tone for the day.
There was art therapy with the lovely team from Dazzle Cymru CIC, for those who wanted to express themselves a little differently and get creative together and a Wellbeing Hour that gave everyone the chance to step outside and explore Cardiff Bay : to wander, breathe, and take in the place we'd called home for the day.
In the afternoon, Tim Pattenden and Byron Hayward led a brilliant, eye-opening session on DOSE β the four chemicals our bodies use to regulate how we feel: dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin and endorphins.
We learned how the smallest, simplest habits can genuinely shift our wellbeing β breaking overwhelming tasks down to one tiny first step to build motivation, taking a moment to thank a colleague and feel that spark of connection, getting daylight and movement into our days, and making room for laughter.
And then, to close, a deeply relaxing sound bath β the perfect way to let everything settle and leave feeling restored.
But the best part? What people took away with them. The feedback from the team has been genuinely heartwarming : colleagues telling us they felt relaxed, reconnected, and valued, that they'd learned something they'll actually use, and that they left feeling lighter than when they arrived. We also took a moment during the day to quietly celebrate colleagues receiving their Long Service Awards β a lovely chance to say thank you to people who've been part of the Case-UK story for many years:

π΅ Owain Williams
π΅ Leanne Lacey
π΅ Katie Elford
π΅ Amy Williams
π΅ Karen Powell
π΅ Daniel Lowther
π΅ Jodie Collard
Because that's the thing: 2026 marks 10 incredible years of Case-UK. Ten years that began with a belief that early, human support could change lives. Ten years that have grown into a team that has supported 15,789 people across Wales β improving mental wellbeing, helping people stay in work, and standing alongside them through their hardest moments.
None of that happens without the people in that room yesterday.
Thank you to everyone who made the day so special. And a huge thank you to Ashley Benbow, Kate Parkinson MIEP and Kelly Lewis for organising the whole day, for taking on so much, thinking of every detail.
