Merthyr Valleys Homes (MVH) was established in 2009 as a result of tenants voting to transfer their homes to a new not-for-profit organisation. On 1st May 2016 we became Wales’ first tenant and employee mutual housing association. Allowing our tenants and employees to become Members gives them a share in the organisation and allows them the right to cast their vote. Our tenants and employees are e

If you enjoy helping people, solving problems and providing great customer service, we'd love to hear from you.

As the first point of contact for our tenants and communities, you'll help with enquiries, offer support and make sure customers get the help they need. No two days are the same!

Membership had a fantastic day in Trefechan on Monday, where community members came together to build 12 hedgehog houses to support local wildlife. We were also pleased to welcome one new member and one mini member to the Membership community. It's great to have you on board!

The event was a great chance to chat with community members and hear their thoughts about the local area, giving us valuable feedback and sparking positive conversations about keeping the community clean and green.

We even had enough materials left over to build an extra hedgehog house, which has now been placed in outside area of our offices at Ty Brychan, creating another safe space for local hedgehogs to call home.

Overall, it was a really positive day, bringing people together, supporting local wildlife and strengthening community connections.

Join our membership team at Gellideg Foundation Group for a fun hedgehog house making workshop and help to support local wildlife in your community.

This is a hands on activity and a great way for children to learn about wildlife while helping to create something practical.
**Important** As we'll be using screws and screwdrivers children will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult to help with the construction.

A group of men from our Community Living Schemes recently enjoyed a great day of fishing at Redhill Fishery, thanks to a partnership with the Merthyr Angling Alliance.

The group spent the day relaxing by the water, enjoying some friendly competition, and sharing plenty of laughs.

Activities like this are a great way to help reduce loneliness and isolation. They give people the chance to socialise, unwind, and enjoy time outdoors, which can be especially important for older people.

Everyone who attended had a fantastic time. The peaceful setting and good company made it a day to remember, and even the afternoon tea got involved with a fun fish-themed twist!

The day was such a success that we're already looking forward to doing it again soon.

We've had an amazing start to this year's Summer of Fun, with Mini Members already enjoying a variety of exciting activities, with plenty of smiles along the way.

It's been fantastic to see so many children and families getting involved, making new friends and having fun together. The energy and enthusiasm from everyone who has attended so far has made the event really special. And the best part? We're only halfway through! 🎉

There are still some sessions to come, with more opportunities for Mini Members to get involved, try something new and make even more summer memories. Whether you've joined us already or are planning to come along to a future session, there's still lots to look forward to.

A big thank you to everyone who has attended so far – we can't wait to see what the rest of the Summer of Fun brings!

Yesterday marked our third annual Summer Jamboree, bringing together over 100 members of our Community Living group and the wider community.

We enjoyed fantastic live entertainment from Chris Owen Music, delicious food by Sue from Merthyr RFC, plus bingo, raffles, and more!

We’ve received some wonderful feedback, which will help shape our upcoming calendar of events.
