Mutations are simply changes from the original setting to a new unfamiliar one, mostly at the genetic level.

Not all breast lumps are malignant, that's cancerous. A lump can form due to mast and excessive concentration of adipose(fatty) tissue around the breast region, such growths are said be benign with little or no consequences and might disappear over time. A biopsy or imaging is always conducted to ascertain whether a lump formation is malignant or benign. However, there are different subtypes of breast cancer, hence it's very important to get screened and early enough.
The screening for breast cancer usually involves different parts. There's the physical examination which aims at understanding whether the lump is fixed, strongly formed or movable. The biopsy is the second stage which looks out for the cell and the cell synthesis which usually changes during cancer attack and then, the imaging. Imaging is usually the use of high sensor magnetic resonance to observe the nature of the breast whether or not there's lump(s) formation, this is otherwise called "Mammogram". Imaging gives a clearer understanding of the size and nature of the changes that is basically cast and density. The most common type of breast cancer found in African or African-American women is called the Triple Negative Breast Cancer(TNBC). These subtype is more vicious and often times reoccurring unless completely eradicated. As of now, the best best approach for treatment is Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy and Surgery.
The complexity of breast cancer is simply because of the nature of the human breast. The breast is made up of 70% fats otherwise known as adipose tissues. To stop cancer growth is usually achieved by bringing up a cycle that will starve the cancer cells to death, but in the case of breast cancer, they feed directly from the fats around them(Cancer microenvironment), this is why some group of scientists believe that the best approach to handle breast cancer is "mastectomy". This can be avoided when the patient reports to the hospital early enough.
The World Health Organization record puts it that every 9 minutes, a person is diagnosed of breast cancer. The big question remains "why"?......

As the need and search for a lasting solution to eradicate cancer increase, it's important to let you know that you have a big role to play to bring this to fruition. Cancer, is a deadly disease but it's highly curative when detected early enough.
I had a discussion with a colleague at a clinic, he said "Cancer is more prevalent in developed countries because of lifestyles". While this assumption has stood a test of time, I on my own part, strongly disagree with it.
A lot of things play around the history and understanding of Cancer in the African setting. How many Cancer patients make it to the hospital? At what time and stage of the disease prognosis? What about verifiable data?
Stigmatization and negligence have played around people's understanding of the disease and other terminal diseases. Diseases, are not oftentimes a punishment for bad behaviors, while some may be out of reckless lifestyle, some can genetically based, airborne or as a result ecosystem and natural degradation. Sick people need a space to get help and not stigmatized. I once worked in a HIV bench in a popular medical setting in Africa, even the medical personnel are not left out, but then, it's what it is.
We often times than not, neglect important symptoms in our bodies. As human beings, our bodies are so integratedly structured such that any alteration in any part whether somatic or germline hardly goes unnoticed by the body. The body reacts to these changes in various ways due to the presence of new biomarkers. And more often than not, the symptoms might disappear after a while only to resurface again but sometimes heavier.
Do not assume, do not procrastinate, do not neglect and do not live in self denial. Confront the tiniest changes as they may be the signal for a bigger one yet to fully unfold unless properly investigated and overruled by accurate and proper medical investigations.
There's a safespace for you to call on, you are not alone, you are loved.....

What is Cancer?
Cancer is uncontrolled cell proliferation, in a lay man's language, Cancer is simply uncontrolled cell growth, multiplication or division. Life is all about cell, and growth is all about cell multiplication. So many things influence and control this cell growth. In the progress of time, so many things can alter this control, this changes or alterations are mutations. Some are genetically engineered while some are accrued from poor or unhealthy life style. This can happen in any part of the body.
