💙 WORLD ALZHEIMER’S MONTH 2026 💙

This September, we will be inviting everyone to come together to raise awareness, share information and help our community understand dementia better.

Throughout the month, our team will be encouraging everyone to talk about dementia, ask questions, connect with others and learn how we can all make a difference.

📣 Dementia Information Sessions👇
We’ll be hosting 2 open community dementia information sessions this month. There’s no booking required — just come along! These sessions are being hosted by local businesses who have joined their local Dementia Friendly Community, helping to make our communities more welcoming and supportive for people living with dementia and their carers.

🤝 Celebrating Dementia Friendly Middlesbrough👇
We’ll also be celebrating the amazing local organisations and businesses who have pledged their support to people affected by dementia. Becoming dementia friendly is about understanding dementia, reducing stigma and making sure people can continue to feel included and connected in their community.

🧠 Early diagnosis matters👇
We’ll be sharing some information posts throughout the month looking at the benefits of early diagnosis and why getting the right support sooner can make such a positive difference.

❤️ Please help us spread the word about this fantastic free heart screening event.

One of our lovely colleagues has asked us to share this event, which is being held in memory of James Campbell, who sadly died from an undiagnosed heart condition at a young age.

Since James' passing, his family have worked tirelessly alongside Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) to raise awareness and fund free heart screening events for young people. These screenings can help identify underlying heart conditions that might otherwise go unnoticed, potentially saving lives.

If you, or someone you know, is aged 14–35, please consider booking a free screening. Even if it doesn't apply to you, sharing this post could help it reach someone who would benefit.

We’re delighted to be partnering with the Tearoom, one of the fantastic local businesses proudly supporting Dementia Friendly Redcar and Cleveland, to host our next Dementia Information Session.

Whether you’re a family member, friend, volunteer, local business, or simply want to learn more, this friendly and informative session will help you better understand dementia and how you can make a real difference in your community.

The session will cover:
💙 Understanding dementia
💙 Practical tips for supporting people living with dementia
💙 Key facts and awareness to help create more dementia-friendly communities
