Tuesday: The Stories We Tell Ourselves

For years, I told myself I hated Mondays.

Eventually… I believed it.

I’d dread Monday before it had even arrived, and by Tuesday I’d be saying to myself,

“Right… you’ve just got to get on with it now.”

That became my pattern.

But Mondays weren’t the only story I was telling myself.

“I’m not clever enough to go to college.”

“I have to work a 9 to 5.”

“I’m not good enough.”

The strange thing is…

I never stopped to ask myself if any of those stories were actually true.

I simply accepted them.

Until one day, I didn’t.

At 39 years old, I walked into college as a mature student.

I qualified in massage therapies.

I built my own business.

And that’s when I realised…

It wasn’t my ability that had been holding me back.

It was the story I’d been telling myself.

Sometimes the biggest thing standing between us and the life we want isn’t our circumstances.

It’s the sentence we’ve repeated in our own head for years.

So today I’d love you to think about one thing…

What story are you telling yourself? ❤️ you

MONDAY RESET

Let’s be honest…

How many people are sitting there tonight thinking, “I can’t believe it’s Monday again tomorrow”?

I remember that feeling so well.

When I worked a 9 to 5, there were Mondays when I simply could not get myself out of bed.

People would ring and ask if I was coming in.

I wasn’t lazy.

I wasn’t incapable.

I was just spending my life somewhere that didn’t feel right for me.

Then I took a huge leap and started my own business.

I had no idea where it would take me, but something changed.

I loved what I was doing.

I was helping people feel better through massage, reflexology and Reiki, and it didn’t feel like work anymore.

The Monday morning dread disappeared.

Now I am not saying everyone should walk out of their job tomorrow morning. 😂

But I am saying this…

If you dread every Monday, week after week, your feelings may be trying to tell you something.

Maybe you need a change.

Maybe you need a new plan.

Maybe you need to stop waiting for someone else to rescue you and start asking yourself what you can do differently.

You do not have to change your whole life overnight.

But you can take one small step.

So tonight, ask yourself honestly…

What is it about Monday that you are really dreading?

And what are you going to do about it?

Much lovely 🥰.

Do you believe in magic? ✨

Or do you believe in possibility?

The more I look back over my life, the more I realise that some of the things I once only dreamed about eventually became my reality.

Not because they appeared overnight…

But because I held onto the vision, kept taking small steps and stayed open to opportunities I never expected.

I’m still dreaming.
I’m still growing.
I’m still believing.

Maybe our dreams don’t arrive in the way we expect…

Maybe they arrive exactly when we’re ready for them.

What dream are you quietly holding onto?

Much lovely 🥰

I’ve been smiling all day.

When I created Safe Inside Me, I hoped it would help people reconnect with themselves.

Today I updated the programme page with a testimonial from someone who has completed the journey, and reading her words reminded me exactly why I created it.

Sometimes, when you’re creating something from your heart, you wonder whether it’s making a difference.

Then a message arrives that reminds you why you started.

Thank you, Sue, for allowing me to share your experience.

Your words mean more than you probably realise.

If you’ve been thinking about taking the first step towards feeling safer within yourself, trusting yourself more and reconnecting with who you are, I’d love you to have a look at Safe Inside Me.

Sometimes the most powerful recommendation isn’t from the creator…

It’s from someone who’s already walked the journey.

Much lovely 🥰

Today didn’t go how I’d planned.

For a little while I found myself thinking, “Well… what am I going to do now?”

Then I remembered something.

Just because one door doesn’t open, it doesn’t mean it’s the wrong path.

Maybe it simply wasn’t the door meant for me.

I’ve learned that sometimes life has a funny way of redirecting us.

It doesn’t always make sense in the moment, but looking back, it often does.

So today, instead of fighting it, I’m choosing to trust the process.

I don’t know exactly what’s around the corner…

But I’m open to finding out.

Much lovely 🥰

So I’ve got to be honest… this has been one of those weeks.

You know the ones where you feel like you haven’t had time to breathe because life just keeps throwing one thing after another at you.

This week made me realise something.

Once upon a time, I thought healing meant that eventually life would become peaceful. Like once you’d done the work, everything would just smell of fresh flowers and nothing would really knock you anymore.

I don’t believe that now.

I think healing is finding the tools that help you move through the hard weeks.

And trust me… this week every single tool in my toolbox came out.

There were moments I cried.

Moments I worried.

Moments I questioned things.

But a year ago I would have been blaming myself for everything that happened around me. This week I didn’t.

I also noticed something else about myself.

When people react, whether it’s someone I know or a complete stranger, I find myself wondering what else is going on in their life.

Because I’ve realised people rarely react to just one thing.

Most of the time there’s a whole story sitting underneath the moment we’re seeing.

Today everything finally caught up with me.

I was doing my housework with my headphones on, listening to one of my own music creations, and all of a sudden the tears just started streaming down my face.

I didn’t stop them.

I didn’t tell myself to pull myself together.

I just went to my room, kept the music on and cried.

And afterwards I realised something…

Those tears weren’t weakness.

They were release.

Sometimes that’s exactly what our body needs.

Healing isn’t about becoming someone who never cries.

It’s about becoming someone who knows what to do when the tears come.

And I think that’s the biggest lesson this week gave me.

Life will always keep happening.

The difference is…

Now I know how to walk through it without losing myself.

Much lovely
