The biggest threat to your business probably isn't your competition

Every organisation measures performance.
Sales.
Profit.
Productivity.
Retention.

But very few measure the one thing that quietly influences every single one of those outcomes.

Emotional Intelligence.

The way your leaders communicate.
Handle pressure.
Build trust.
Navigate conflict.
Create psychological safety.
Inspire performance.

We're inviting just five business owners, people leaders or senior leaders to complete our new EQ Leadership Scorecard.

You'll receive:
✔ A personalised EQ Leadership Score
✔ Insight into your leadership strengths
✔ Blind spots that may be limiting growth
✔ A private Leadership Debrief with me to discuss your results

During the debrief we'll explore where your organisation is today and whether developing Emotional Intelligence across your leadership team could unlock better engagement, stronger performance and healthier cultures.

If you're serious about building a business that performs because of its people, rather than despite them comment EQ or send me a message.

Applications close once the five places have been filled.

Today feels like one of those moments that reminds me why we do what we do.
A huge congratulations to Mhairi on successfully completing her studies and joining The Talking Rooms as a qualified therapist. 🎉
Over the past year, Mhairi has supported clients with empathy, professionalism and genuine care, all while balancing the demands of her training. Watching her grow into a confident, capable therapist has been a privilege, and we're incredibly proud to welcome her to the team.

As one journey comes to fruition, another begins.

We're also delighted to welcome Gail, who has joined us as our newest student therapist. Gail will be completing her placement with us under close clinical supervision, gaining valuable experience while supporting adults experiencing mild to moderate anxiety and depression.

Supporting student therapists has always been an important part of who we are at The Talking Rooms.

It's about more than providing placements. It's about investing in the future of our profession, creating opportunities for talented therapists to thrive, and increasing access to high-quality mental health support for our communities.

Every experienced therapist started somewhere. We're proud to play a small part in that journey.

Congratulations again, Mhairi. We can't wait to see what comes next.

And welcome to the team, Gail. We're delighted to have you with us.

There is something about 162 Buchanan Street that you feel before you can explain it.

The worn stairwell. The original tiles. The faint smell of history in the walls. The sense that thousands of lives, conversations, hopes and hard days have passed through this building long before we arrived.

Glasgow has always had a tough exterior. It is a city built on graft, resilience, humour and getting on with it. But Glasgow is changing too. Beneath that famous steeliness, there is a growing understanding that we do not have to carry everything alone.

We can talk about anxiety. We can ask for help. We can heal from what happened. We can choose a different future.

That is what makes opening The Talking Rooms here feel so meaningful. In a building full of stories, we are creating space for new ones: quieter, braver, more hopeful stories of people choosing themselves.

From the outside, it may be an old Glasgow building with a slightly weathered charm. Inside, it is becoming a place for reflection, recovery and real change.
A little piece of Glasgow’s past, holding space for its future. 💙

Today, I have some exciting news to share.

After years of growth, thousands of conversations, countless moments of courage, and over 5,000 people supported on their mental health journey, The Talking Rooms is opening the doors to our brand-new flagship clinic in the heart of Glasgow on Buchanan Street.

When I first started The Talking Rooms, it wasn't with a grand business plan or ambitions of multiple locations. It was built from a simple belief:

Everyone deserves access to compassionate, professional mental health support when they need it most.

What began as one therapist, one room, and one mission has grown into a team of dedicated professionals supporting people across Scotland and beyond.

Over the years, we have helped people navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, grief, relationship difficulties, workplace stress, addiction, and life's many challenges. We've celebrated breakthroughs, witnessed incredible resilience, and had the privilege of walking alongside thousands of people as they rebuilt confidence, hope, and wellbeing.

Today, we are incredibly proud to say that we have now supported more than 5,000 people.

But we're not stopping there.

Our mission has always been bigger than us.

Our goal is to support 10,000 people on their journey towards better mental health, healthier relationships, and happier lives.

The opening of Buchanan Street is an important step towards that vision.

This beautiful new space has been carefully designed to provide a calm, welcoming, and professional environment where people can feel safe, supported, and understood. It reflects everything we believe therapy should be: accessible, compassionate, and focused on real change.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing sneak peeks of the new clinic, behind-the-scenes photos, and updates as we put the finishing touches in place. I can't wait to show you what we've been working on.

As I look around this new space, I'm reminded that none of this would have been possible without the trust our clients have placed in us, the dedication of our incredible therapists, and the support of everyone who has championed The Talking Rooms over the years.

To every client who has shared their story with us, thank you.

To every therapist who has helped change lives, thank you.

To everyone who has recommended us, supported us, and believed in our vision, thank you.

This is your achievement too.

Here's to the next chapter.
Here's to helping the next 5,000 people.

And here's to creating a future where nobody feels they have to struggle alone.

With gratitude,

PS Special shout out to Jen Scott Photography for the beautiful images.

Death by a Thousand Cuts: How to Thrive After Narcissistic Abuse
By Nicola Ball — Psychotherapist & Thriver

Have you ever loved someone who slowly erased pieces of you?
This book is your lifeline back to yourself.

Death by a Thousand Cuts is a powerful, compassionate guide for anyone who has endured the invisible wounds of narcissistic abuse — and is ready to heal, rebuild, and thrive. Drawing on both professional expertise and lived experience, psychotherapist Nicola Ball takes you on a journey from understanding the psychology of narcissism to reclaiming your identity, setting boundaries, and rediscovering your power.

Through clear explanations, real-world insights, and evidence-based therapeutic tools like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness, Nicola helps you break free from manipulation, gaslighting, and self-doubt — and begin living with clarity, confidence, and self-worth.

Inside, you’ll discover:

What narcissism really is — and how it develops
The manipulation tactics narcissists use (and how to spot them early)
How to rebuild healthy self-esteem and emotional regulation
Tools to create strong boundaries and healthier relationships
Practical healing techniques to move from survival to thriving
This isn’t just a book — it’s a recovery companion, a mirror of understanding, and a roadmap home to yourself.

Whether you’re still disentangling from a narcissistic relationship, healing from its aftermath, or helping someone you love, Death by a Thousand Cuts offers the insight, validation, and empowerment you’ve been searching for.

You won’t see every sunset.

Not because you don’t want to…
But because life is limited.

And somewhere along the way,
many of us learned to believe we’re not enough.

Not confident enough.
Not successful enough.
Not worthy enough.

At The Talking Rooms, we hear this every day.

But here’s the truth…

That voice in your head?
It’s not facts.
It’s learned.

And what’s learned…
can be unlearned.

You are not behind.
You are not broken.
You are not “less than”.

You are someone who’s still learning how to be kinder to themselves.

And that matters.

Because the more you believe you are enough,
the more your world starts to open up.

You take chances.
You set boundaries.
You go after the things that once felt impossible.

Not because you suddenly became perfect…
But because you stopped believing you had to be.

There are only so many sunsets.
Don’t spend them at war with yourself.

Start gently.
Start honestly.
Start now.

If this resonates, save it for later 🤍
