A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand and to Buckingham Library for hosting us.

Here's something we hear a lot: 'I didn't know I could ask for help.'

Family carers often come to us when they're already running on empty. When the worry has been building for months.

What we want you to know is: you can come to us before it gets to that point.

🏑 Home Care or Care Home? Understanding the Difference

When a loved one needs extra support, knowing which care option is right for them can feel overwhelming.

Home care allows people to remain in the place they know and love most... their own home ❀️

βœ… Maintain independence and daily routines
βœ… One-to-one personalised support
βœ… Familiar surroundings, especially beneficial for those living with dementia
βœ… Flexible care tailored to changing needs
βœ… Often a more cost-effective alternative to residential care

At Home Instead Milton Keynes, we're here to help families explore their options and make informed decisions with confidence.

Earlier this week we had the pleasure of attending That Networking Group at Buckingham Golf Club, Buckinghamshire, where we delivered a business presentation on Home Instead Milton Keynes & Buckinghamshire. 🀝

It was a fantastic opportunity to share more about who we are as a business, as a service of care, and also as an organisation supporting individuals and families across our local community.

We also spoke about the wider impact of Home Instead, and how we support people to remain independent at home with high-quality, relationship-focused care.

A big thank you to Helena and Adam for hosting such a welcoming and well-run networking group, and to everyone who took the time to listen, ask questions, and learn more about what we do. We also enjoyed catching up with regular members and connecting with new attendees and building meaningful connections.

We really value opportunities like this to connect with local businesses and raise awareness of the support available within our community. πŸ’œ

πŸ’œ Dementia Action Week πŸ’œ

This week, the team at Home Instead Milton Keynes & Buckinghamshire have been proud to support Dementia Action Week by delivering two dementia awareness and education sessions in our local community.

We visited The Lindens Care Home in Stoke Hammond, where we delivered a health education talk on dementia for residents living at the care home, local residents, and family members who wanted to learn more. The session was followed by a relaxed Q&A, with lots of thoughtful questions and discussion.

We also returned to the Forget Me Not, Dementia Support Group in Bletchley, a regular support group for family members and unpaid carers. This session was more informal, with a group discussion exploring what dementia is, the different types, symptoms and causes, and the support available. We also shared practical advice, emotional support, and took time to answer questions throughout.

Dementia affects not only the individual, but also their family, friends, and wider support network. That’s why we are passionate about providing compassionate, relationship-focused care and support for everyone impacted.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, shared their experiences, and joined in the conversations β€” it really does make a difference. πŸ’œ

We’re always here if anyone in the community needs advice, guidance, or support.
