π Dementia Action Week π
This week, the team at Home Instead Milton Keynes & Buckinghamshire have been proud to support Dementia Action Week by delivering two dementia awareness and education sessions in our local community.
We visited The Lindens Care Home in Stoke Hammond, where we delivered a health education talk on dementia for residents living at the care home, local residents, and family members who wanted to learn more. The session was followed by a relaxed Q&A, with lots of thoughtful questions and discussion.
We also returned to the Forget Me Not, Dementia Support Group in Bletchley, a regular support group for family members and unpaid carers. This session was more informal, with a group discussion exploring what dementia is, the different types, symptoms and causes, and the support available. We also shared practical advice, emotional support, and took time to answer questions throughout.
Dementia affects not only the individual, but also their family, friends, and wider support network. Thatβs why we are passionate about providing compassionate, relationship-focused care and support for everyone impacted.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended, shared their experiences, and joined in the conversations β it really does make a difference. π
Weβre always here if anyone in the community needs advice, guidance, or support.
