She looked me in the eye and said: I forgot I was allowed to feel good.
We were a few sessions in, and something had shifted. For years, she'd been moving through her days on autopilot. Ticking boxes. Being productive. Running round making sure everyone else was okay.
But her own body? Her own pleasure? Her own aliveness?
She'd stopped asking for permission to feel those things. She'd stopped believing she was allowed.
And then in one session, after a simple breathwork practice, she felt warmth in her chest. A softness in her belly. A sense of something that she hadn't touched in so long.
She looked at me and said
“I forgot I was allowed to feel good.”
