Honestly, it feels like winning the lottery!

As a busy mum and self-employed woman, having meals ready to go is a HUGE win. ✌️🙏

Anyone else get ridiculously excited about a fridge full of food? 😂👇

I still hear so many women believing that skipping meals or eating as little as possible is the only way to lose weight.

This way of thinking is outdated and it's straight out of the '90s diet culture playbook.

Yet it's so deeply ingrained in many millennials that challenging these beliefs takes ongoing work.

I know because I've been there myself. I've experienced it firsthand, and it took me time to relearn what healthy eating and a healthy relationship with food actually look like.

Health doesn't mean becoming obsessed with food or our body.

And I can tell there is a way out of this trap, and it's not a coincidence that I am a health coach today.

When it is about to move our body, Flexibility is key.

It doesn't need to feel like a chore, it has to feel good.

In this improvised routine I set 15 minutes on my timer and I did more or less 15 reps each exercise:

Squat,
lunges,
leg raises (side and back),
calf raises,
press-ups,
sit-ups,
glutes bridges (three variations),
dead bug

No rest in between and I carried on until I completed 3 rounds.

You just feel different after...I promise

Healthy change doesn’t start with another meal plan or another quick fix.

But it all starts with reflection and better questions.

Before I support clients with food, movement, sleep, energy, or lifestyle habits… we pause and explore what actually fits their life right now.

Because if it doesn’t fit your routine, your energy, your family life, or your current capacity…

it probably won’t last.

Exercise isn’t just “good for your mood”, it’s a well-supported treatment tool for depression.

Recent large-scale evidence (link in my BIO) shows that structured exercise can significantly reduce depressive symptoms, improve sleep quality, and even support cognitive function.

And importantly: it’s not all the same.

Different types of training have different strengths:
• Aerobic work (walking, jogging, cycling)
• Yoga
• Strength training
All show meaningful benefits,  in some cases comparable to CBT, and even outperforming medication in certain contexts.

But here’s the interesting part for women specifically:

👉 Strength training appears to be especially effective in younger adults and women.

That means lifting weights isn’t just about physique or performance,  it’s a genuine mental health intervention.

The key takeaway:
Exercise is medicine and resistance training can be a powerful prescriptions.

The key isn’t intensity or perfection, it’s consistency, and finding forms of movement that feel sustainable and supportive for you.

L'esercizio fisico non è solo "un toccasana per l'umore", ma è anche un valido strumento terapeutico per la depressione.
Recenti studi su larga scala (link nella mia BIO) dimostrano che l'esercizio fisico strutturato può ridurre significativamente i sintomi depressivi, migliorare la qualità del sonno e persino supportare le funzioni cognitive.

E, cosa importante: non è tutto uguale.
I diversi tipi di allenamento hanno punti di forza diversi:
• Attività aerobica (camminare, correre, andare in bicicletta)
• Yoga
• Allenamento di forza
Tutti mostrano benefici significativi, in alcuni casi paragonabili alla terapia cognitivo-comportamentale (TCC) e persino superiori ai farmaci in determinati contesti.

Ma ecco la parte interessante, soprattutto per le donne:

👉 L'allenamento di forza sembra essere particolarmente efficace nelle giovani adulte e nelle donne.
Ciò significa che sollevare pesi non riguarda solo il fisico o le prestazioni, ma è un vero e proprio intervento per la salute mentale.
