Five men enjoyed the darth Vader walk this morning .

Fairly low numbers last Saturday at Men Walking and Talking in mirfield.

The number isn't important, but the message is, and it's really positive to see that the word is getting out to more people every week.

Lads, if you want to talk, or if you want to come for a stroll and support other people, we've created a safe space where you can do exactly that.

It's open to all men aged 18 and over, and it's totally free.

Why not come along and find out more? If it's not your thing, maybe pass this info onto a mate or a family member, or share it at work.

You never know who is struggling in silence.

Ladies send hubby down, he may enjoy the company and making new friends.

Tell them, whatever it is, they don't need to go through it alone 💪

Great walk yesterday, 3 men on the canal to Arthur's Cafe and back

Great walk yesterday, 6 men walked up across the Hopton fields and back along the greenway, great banter guys. Chris Matthews Coaching I will try to attend your next run as a tail walker again.

6 men enjoyed a 2.8 mile walk through the fields and along the greenway including the town mayor.

Thirty years ago, a majority of men (55%) reported having at least six close friends. Today, that number has been cut in half, according to data. And 15% of men reported having no close friendships at all.

Men learn to process emotions on their own, or turn to a female friend, a partner. Over time, from my own experience you lose the skills to maintain those relationships. And when you do have male friends, there is only a few topics you can talk about: sports, work etc. Sharing about grief, loss and hard stuff is very difficult to do.

Sometimes it can be really hard to find men who are on the same level and reciprocate any deeper conversations. This is why groups like ours are so important. We are giving men permission to speak openly without fear of judgment.
