🌙The Four of Swords card has appeared in so many client readings recently, highlighting a deep need for physical, mental and emotional rest and reflection.

It’s often drawn when we need reminding that healing starts when we slow down, take a step back, and allow ourselves the time and space to recover and regain perspective.

After having surgery recently, I had to practise what I so often encourage others to do, and it made me realise that rest isn’t always easy.

Like many of us, I’m used to looking after others, keeping things going, and feeling responsible for everyone else.

But my body reminded me that healing can’t be rushed, and I had to listen..

🧡 Last week, my beautiful ginger boy, Simba, was hit by a car.

🧡 The sound of the impact is something I’ll never forget. He ran straight into nearby woodland, terrified and in shock, and for what felt like forever, I couldn’t find him.

🧡 I called his name over and over. Eventually, I heard a faint meow. He trusted my voice enough to come closer, and after a long & patient wait, I was finally able to bring him home.

🧡 I am so thankful that the vet confirmed,
No broken bones, No internal injuries,
Just bruising, a cut to his side and shock.
I brought him home with anti-inflammatory medication.

🧡 I truly believe Simba has used one of his 9 lives🙏

🧡 And this reminded me of how trauma affects the body and the nervous system..

🧡 Simba experienced fear, shock and pain.

🧡 I experienced fear, helplessness and the heartbreak of not knowing how injured he was or if he was still alive..

🧡 Since bringing him home, I’ve been helping Simba with Reiki each day.

🧡 Reiki works beautifully alongside any type of medical care. Gently supporting relaxation, helping to calm the nervous system after trauma, and encouraging the body’s own natural healing process.

🧡 The 1st photo was taken just after one of Simba’s Reiki sessions..

🧡 Curled up against me, completely relaxed, purring softly and finally feeling safe enough to sleep.
