🎶 Leigh's Ukulele Group Brings Music and Smiles 🎶

There's something truly special about sharing hobbies and interests with friends, and even more so when those experiences can be enjoyed by others.

Leigh's talented ukulele group visited us recently and delighted one or two of our residents and staff with a fantastic rendition of Bob Dylan's Blowin' in the Wind.🎸 Their performance soon had another of our residents and some staff singing along and enjoying the wonderful atmosphere they created.

Leigh proudly accompanied the group on tambourine, helping to lead the percussion🪇 and adding his own musical flair to the occasion.

Thank you to Leigh and his friends for bringing friendship, music, and happiness to our day. 💙

🐶💖 The Power of Puppy Love 💖🐶

Last week, we were delighted to welcome the most adorable 11-week-old Pomeranian puppy, Teddy, who belongs to one of our wonderful staff members 🐾✨.

The whole home quickly fell in love with this little guy ❤️. Teddy happily soaked up every cuddle and fuss he could get 🤗🐶, bringing smiles and laughter wherever he went.

For such a young pup, Teddy had everything measured in an instant! 😄 He charmed everyone with his calm, cool, and laid-back nature 😎🐾, making himself right at home and brightening all our days ☀️💛.

It was truly amazing to see the joy and comfort Teddy brought to our residents and team. Sometimes, a little puppy love is all it takes to light up a room 🐶💕✨.

✨A Trip Down Memory Lane 🚌

Last week, two of our residents enjoyed a wonderful trip down memory lane during a Hedgehog Bus outing to the Gordon Russell Museum.

Both Laurie and Jean have special connections to the museum. Laurie was formerly the Director of Sales for Gordon Russell, while Jean's late husband, Ray, worked as a designer for the company for many years 🪑📐.

The group thoroughly enjoyed their visit, listening to the knowledgeable guide explain the stories behind each piece of the iconic furniture and how the designs came to life. It was a fascinating and nostalgic experience, filled with cherished memories and interesting insights 💭❤️.

A lovely time was had by all, and it was especially meaningful for Laurie and Jean to revisit a place that holds such an important part of their personal history 😊💙.

💜 Blooming Creativity: Lavender Print Painting with Cotton Buds 🌿

Our residents enjoyed a wonderfully therapeutic lavender print painting session, kindly led by Mary, who generously gave up some of her holiday time from her role as a school teacher to share her artistic skills with us.

Using cotton buds and paint, residents carefully created beautiful lavender prints, becoming fully immersed in the activity from start to finish. The room was filled with concentration and creativity as everyone focused on bringing their artwork to life. The final step was mounting their finished masterpieces onto card backgrounds, ready to be proudly displayed for all to admire.

A heartfelt thank you to Mary for sharing her time, skills, and enthusiasm with our residents. It was a lovely afternoon of creativity, relaxation, and achievement for everyone involved. 💜🎨✨

🎂🥳Family Time & Birthday Smiles 🥳🎂

Last week, our lovely resident Gill celebrated her birthday with a wonderful family gathering here at the home. It was a special occasion filled with laughter, love, and cherished moments shared with those closest to her.

To make the day even more memorable, our staff couldn't resist surprising Gill with a rendition of Happy Birthday, a cake, card, and gift, bringing plenty of smiles all around!

🥁Drumming the Lambeth Walk🎶

Nicky took us on a 'Sentimental Journey' through the decades, drumming along to the beat once again last week. 🥁🎶

Our residents always look forward to Nicky's visits, from her drumsticks and paradiddles to her wonderful singing voice. There was plenty of music, laughter and participation, with everyone enjoying the chance to reminisce and join in.

A fantastic time was had by all, and we are already looking forward to her next visit! 😊✨

🏆 We Let the Good Times Roll! 🏆😊

Residents had a fantastic time taking part in our Monthly Tabletop Bowling Challenge!

With steady hands, careful aim, and just enough oomph, participants rolled each ball down the table, hoping to land in the highest-scoring cup. Each cup revealed a number on the bottom, with scores added together to see who would come out on top!

There was plenty of laughter, friendly competition, and encouragement throughout the challenge, making it a wonderful social activity for everyone involved.

Well done to all our residents who took part and made this month's challenge such a success. We can't wait to see who will win the championship this year! 😊🏆

☕ A Little Detour, A Lovely Adventure🚍🌿
Our residents enjoyed a wonderful outing on the Hedgehog Bus with a trip to Burford to try a new café, The Country Kiwi.
The journey there became part of the adventure as we accidentally took the scenic route while following the sat nav! Travelling through picturesque hamlets, past chocolate-box cottages and along narrow country lanes, we did wonder if we would make it through with the bus!🚍Fortunately, everyone enjoyed taking in the beautiful countryside views and the charming villages along the way.🌿

Once we arrived, we received a very warm welcome at The Country Kiwi Café and enjoyed some delicious refreshments in a lovely spacious, relaxed setting. There was plenty of laughter, great conversation and lots of smiles.

A fantastic outing filled with good company, beautiful scenery and a new café discovery. We are already looking forward to our next adventure! 🚍☕🌿
