Hi All

Please consider going to watch this new film "Onwards and Sideways". It's about living with Parkinson's and written by Paul Mayhew Archer - wrote Vicar of Dibley and lives with Parkinson's. Paul's best placed to share the realities using light-hearted humour mixed with poignant moments.

It's being released nationwide in November so if you'd like to better understand the realities of what it is to live with Parkinson's, try and see it at a cinema near you. If you think Parkinson's is "just a tremor", think again!

Due to the efforts of a fabulous member of Rothbury Parkinsons UK group, she has ensured that Alnwick Playhouse is the first independent cinema in England to screen the film - see dates etc below or on their website. Paul hopes to join the audience (remotely) after the final screening on the 26th, to talk about the film and Parkinson's. William Purves Funeral Directors are supporting this and are holding a raffle.

We have a fabulous community spirit here in the Coquet Valley. Lets ensure we are better able to understand and support people navigating Parkinson's, now or in the future, in our community 💙

I had a great afternoon with a lovely group of people enjoying the beauty of wildflowers at Fieldhead Farm with the fabulous Mel of Creative Space North East.
Great to share time out in a beautiful spot, taking time for ourselves harnessing comfort in body and mind through simple creative activity!

Community services have been discussed since before I became a physiotherapist..... so we're talking over 30years ago. Despite this funding has been limited in providing physioherapy and other clinicians working in rehabilitation. Acute services move individuals faster through the system these days........ Stretched services are optimally challenged. Despite this, who takes the brunt of this? The individuals requiring that rehabilitation! I may now work independently now, but if I could wish for one thing for my NHS colleagues, it wouldn't be more pay, it would be more rehabilitation colleagues.
Increase the staffing, spread the load, provide accessible rehabilitation for more people and for longer time periods. Who benefits? The individual, their loved ones, society, healthcare staff.
Lets stop talking about 'quality of life'. Lets enable people to live it. 🤞💛👍
